The best restaurants in Malahide

12/09/2026: My cousins and I (8 in total) had a wonderful evening in The Greedy Goose (11 Sept 2026). The food was absolutely delicious and beautifully presented. The menu selection was amazing and had plenty to offer for the vegetarians and vegans among us. The service was excellent and the staff were so friendly and efficient with all the courses arriving promptly and with enough time between each course so we didn’t feel rushed. We all agreed it was impossible to pick a favourite dish because everything tasted so good. The overall atmosphere in the restaurant was vibrant and despite it being very busy it did not impact service in any negative way. Would recommend this restaurant without hesitation. It is great value for money, has a fantastic menu and wonderful friendly staff! Can’t wait to go back!

12/09/2026: A really nice place to eat. The food is good, and very fresh. The staff are good fun and very attentive to our needs. The place is also small, which brings a nice cozy feel to it.

16/09/2026: We moved to Malahide about a year ago and now regularly visit McGoverns. Just want to give huge compliments to the staff here who are always sooooo friendly and welcoming. We always have got Excellent service. Only feedback is the bathroom could do with an upgrade and maybe a bit of a refresh in general for the restaurant. Food is always great.

05/09/2026: We come back to Old Street Restaurant every year when we’re in Dublin, and it has become one of those places we genuinely look forward to. We’ve been here several times now, including with family and friends, and the quality has been consistently exceptional. What really stands out is the food. The quality of the ingredients, the presentation, and especially the combination of flavors are outstanding. Everything feels thoughtful and beautifully balanced, with those little unexpected touches that turn a very good dish into something memorable. Today was no exception. From the main courses and sides to the dessert, everything was absolutely delicious. For us, Old Street is easily one of our top three restaurants in Ireland. And the fact that we keep coming back year after year probably says it best. Highly recommended. We’ll absolutely be back! ❤️

30/08/2026: This was our absolute favorite meal during our visit to Ireland. Definitely get the mussels, you won't be disappointed. Excellent service, atmosphere, and food. I would fly across the Atlantic again to eat here.

23/08/2026: A lovely place to eat in lovely Malahide! Wonderful restaurant in beautiful Malahide! We went there twice in our one week stay in Dublin. 30 minutes by train from Dublin.

17/08/2026: Our party of 4 adults and 2 children called into this restaurant at 2 pm on a Saturday looking for a table, half expecting to be turned away as we could see all the tables were full ! However, the waiter with a smile said, "Let me see what I can do for you. While working on her Chrome book, looking how she could juggle her bookings around, said I can accommodate you, providing you will vacate your table by 3.30pm. A table had just become available, and we were settled comfortably into our seats. Looking around this restaurant, I was very taken by the decor and standard of finish. Our table was prepared very well and within a few minutes our orders were taken. Our drinks arrived quickly to my pleasure as sometimes you have to wait a long time when the restaurant you happen to be dining in is very busy. Anyway I could see that the restaurant was very well organised. Plenty of staff working harmlessly together delivering great service ! Our food orders were served together for our party of 6. We asked for vinegar and more ketchup, which arrived immediately. Our food was excellent, fish and chips, chicken burger with chips, steak and chips and burger and chips along with pancakes for one of the young boys. The food was hot and tasty and certainly was just what we wanted for a laid-back family lunch on a Saturday. We had coffees after our lunch. Our bill for the 6 was around €170.00 We left a tip which was well deserved by the attentive staff. We will be back .....

24/07/2026: My favourite part of the day is my visit to the YD. Great coffee , lovely food and super friendly and efficient staff. A great option for walkers and cyclists and a great place to meet.

26/07/2026: If you are lucky enough like we were to get a window seat on a beautiful sunny day, then, it's a lovely vista overlooking the sea and marina. The staff who served us we both polite and patient as we pondered the menu choices. We chose from the set and al a carte menu and although the portions were quite small, they were adequate when we added some sides. The dishes were fresh and well flavoured and helped along by a nice bottle of wine and based on four sharing the guide price would be between fifty to sixty euro per person. The atmosphere was nice and friendly and it's a popular choice so it was quite busy but we didn’t feel rushed. Yes, it will be on our list when we next visit this beautiful area. Malahide is a wonderful place to visit and has good travel connections to Dublin City using the DART Train Service. The town has a pedestrianised main street with a wide selection of bars etc. Definitely a great place to visit whether you arrive by yacht to its marina or by road or rail. 06/09/2026: When we visit a popular or touristy street, we normally don’t have very high expectations, as you often end up paying a premium for the location, while the quality of the food and service isn’t always at the same level. However, we came here with our family and our newborn daughter and we had a great experience. The seafood was delicious and Alki and the rest of the staff were very friendly, attentive and welcoming. It was refreshing to find a place in a popular location where both the food and the service were high quality. Thank you for making our experience so enjoyable!

13/07/2026: I have stayed in the Grand on many occasions, this time we booked through a third party website which was cheaper but we ended up in a very small bedroom. The Grand does many things well but the breakfast is one of the best parts about staying in this hotel, so pay the extra for breakfast and get a window seat and enjoy the view. Great location, especially when the weather is good like on this visit and if you get a chance go on Howth cliff walk,it's a great experience.

25/06/2026: Beautiful updated room, nice size bathroom. Writing desk, table with two chairs. Tea kettle and a fancy coffee maker. A fan was provided, which was needed because we were there during a hot 🔥 spell in June. The room was very hot and stuffy. Dinner and breakfast served in the restaurant overlooking the bay, just gorgeous. All the food was delicious. Great service throughout all the meals.
