The best restaurants in Malahide

22/10/2024: Possibly the worst dining experience in my. Life time got a pasta dish and the pasta wasn't cooked sauces were tasteless and scabby wouldn't ever recommend anyone to eat here please asking you all nicely

28/09/2024: We were looking for a place for a weekend breakfast catch-up close to the airport as one of us was flying in especially. Deja Vu was a very good choice. It was surprisingly easy to find a car park on a Saturday morning, and we had time for a stroll by the sea before breakfast. The table we had booked was all set up and waiting for us. The space is appealing, light and bright yet with character, and great for conversation. The service was excellent, and everything came out in good time. The coffee scored well with me too. The brunch menu offers all the usual cafe favourites, and the six of us ordered five different dishes. The portion sizes are small, the only thing any of our party thought could have been improved on. Malahide is an appealing place with quality independent shops just around the corner, the park and the sea nearby and everything well kept and clean. We definitely picked the right place.

10/11/2024: Very accommodating for my wife’s needs as she doesn’t want to eat certain things during pregnancy and really helpful with my young son and getting his food ready first etc…. Price was very reasonable food was very very good. Hapoy and will be back.

26/10/2024: Popped in this morning with my 8 year old daughter who is celiac asked if they do gluten free all they had was carrot cake... in this day and age not having anything other then a piece of cake that is gluten free is very disappointing and ignorant I have to say my daughter smelled your food that's why we went in so in future maybe remember celiacs have the same sense of smell as everyone else and not to be able to even get a breakfast is disgraceful..I would also question how your carrot cake is gluten free but nothing else on your menu is?you had vegan options of course though remember vegan is a choice being celiac is not!

10/10/2024: I was impressed with the service from the bar staff. Didn't get chance to try the food, but great experience.

24/09/2024: Chicken burger was quite basic and mediocre. Dry filet of fried chicken. No sauce of any sort either. Onion rings were quite mushy. Like mushed onions that have been mixed with flour and battered. Garlic dip was great. The staff and vibe seem cool though.

07/11/2024: About 90% of the meal was good except for the item I wanted the most. Googled “imperial rolls” and the description with photos looked amazing. What I got (which wasn’t in the description at all) was 2 crispy fried slices of white bread with a tiny slither each of SPAM, carrot and green onion crammed in, dry as the Sahara. Couldn’t stomach the spam smell so I chucked it. Almost €8 for sliced pan and veg fit for a dwarf hamster, what a rip off. The portion sizes here are pretty small but the other food was tasty enough. Korean fried wings are delicious and crispy. Ordering is like Russian roulette though as there’s no description.

02/10/2024: I got pork/duck and it was absolutely delicious. One of the nicest dishes I've had in a long, long time. Non-greasy spring rolls? Yum. I'd add photos, but eh... there's nothing left. Fast delivery.

20/10/2024: We had the early bird set menu ! It didn't disappoint.. 3 Courses for €26ea I have eaten here before Christmas last and can't fault it. There was a great buzz about the place and the service was equally great. The restaurant is situated in the basement, The decor is sharp with comfy seating and nice table settings. My only quibble was that we were seated next to the front exterior wall and there was a cold draught running down behind me. I know that the weather was near freezing outside but it was uncomfortable for me ! Otherwise it was fantastic as always .. 4th time to eat there...

27/09/2024: "You advertised an all-evening early bird menu on your website. But when we went to order the 2 courses, we were told that no longer applied. I found this totally unacceptable, as it is false advertising. We were told it had been changed to just from 18.00 to 19.00. Our booking was for 19.30. We would have come earlier if this had not been displayed on your website. And under the circumstances, I feel you should have honoured the 2 courses for 29.95 . The squid was pretty tasteless. Would have preferred less. Huge quantity. Would have been nicer to have a smaller portion, but with a nice light batter and some flavour. The Halibut was floating in oil. This was what my 80 year old mother ordered. She could not eat it. And we assumed it would be taken off the bill. It wasnt. But when I said I felt it was wrong to charge for something that was not eten, this was rectified. But really felt this should have been done, without me having to point it out. We had ordered a bottle of Malbec. I was halfway through my starter before we got it, and had asked twice where it was. The excuse was, they could not find it!!! Overall, a really disappointing night. Staff were friendly girls. But with little or no experience. So many much nicer place s in Malahide. We used to be regular patrons of Bon Apetpetit when Patsy Mc Guirk had it. And it was always spot on. NOt any more.

16/11/2024: 2nd visit to Ribeye and both times have been great. Duck wings are delicious 👌

10/11/2024: We went here for an anniversary dinner with another couple. On entering we were quickly shown to our table . It was very busy and there was a great atmosphere. Our server was fantastic very funny and really made us feel welcome. The menu looked fantastic and we were really looking forward to our meal. I ordered pork belly wrap and a Striploin cooked rare. The pork belly was beautiful but TINY two pieces the size of the top of my thumb. The steak was so skinny that it was impossible to cook rare and get a sear . There was very little colour (flavour) on the outside and cooked over for my liking. The other dishes were also on the small size . Dessert for me was a lemon curd Panna cota lovely flavour but solid in texture to much gelatine. Overall we had a lovely evening cocktails were great and as mentioned atmosphere was fantastic but for the price we were charged €306.00 we were all underwhelmed with the food mainly down to portion size. I doubt we'll be back.

06/09/2024: Superb food, and reasonably priced for what you're getting. The menu is less varied than most other Indian restaurants, but still broad enough. The duck Chettinad is out of this world
