Ribeye Steakhouse in Malahide

★★★★☆ 4/5 We visited for our 18th wedding anniversary and overall had a pleasant evening. The restaurant has a lot of character and a nice atmosphere, although the first thing that hits you when you walk through the door is a noticeable damp/musty smell. It’s a shame because the place itself has plenty of charm, and I imagine this is something that could be addressed without changing the character of the restaurant. The service, however, was excellent. Both ladies looking after us were lovely, particularly the younger waitress. I told her I knew absolutely nothing about wine and simply asked her to surprise me. She made the choice for me, brought it over and poured it — and it was a great choice. Friendly, relaxed and professional service throughout the evening. For starters we had the wings, which I had seen recommended by quite a few people. They were good and we enjoyed them. Unfortunately, the biggest disappointment was the main course. I ordered the ribeye steak, well done. I understand perfectly well that ordering a steak well done means sacrificing some tenderness and juiciness, but this was genuinely tough to eat. Instead of enjoying a nice piece of meat, I felt like I was fighting with it on the plate. For the price, and particularly in a restaurant where steak is one of the main attractions, I expected a much better quality piece of beef. So overall, 4 stars from me. Lovely staff, good service, nice atmosphere and an enjoyable anniversary evening, but ultimately you go to a restaurant primarily for the food — and unfortunately the ribeye, which should have been the highlight of the meal, was the weakest part of the experience.

Excellent atmosphere. The staff were very friendly and knowledgeable, offering great recommendations on wine pairings with the food without ever being intrusive or pushy. We had the Surf & Turf for Two the prawns and ribeye were absolutely delicious, and at €60 per couple, we thought it was great value. The background music was very cool too and really added to the atmosphere. Great food, great service and a lovely vibe. Highly recommend

Had a lovely midweek meal at Ribeye. Ordered the Tuesday night steak deal which was great value. Food was lovely, and our waitress Emer couldn’t have been friendlier and more accommodating. Her bubbly presence was so personable and she tailored her engagements so well. Be it a couple or family with young children, she made each booking feel properly looked after. Will return again soon and thanks again for the nice meal!

Visited this evening for the first time. Nice atmosphere, wait staff very attentive, food was excellent, and reasonable very reasonable. Will definitely be returning

Great steaks! Enjoyed the drinks and service as well. The window however is so wide it’s a bit awkward when people look in the window when it’s quiet.

Went to Ribeye for my birthday, service was very friendly and quick. Beef was delicious and perfectly cooked and lovely cocktails. We really enjoyed and will definitely come back☺️

Went on father's day, travelling 1.5 hrs, only a set menu available which wasn't made very clear when booking, key ingredients missing (the dish was ordered because they were supposed to be in it) staff were super friendly and gave us extra sides in lieu of missing ingredients. Food in general was decent but not wow and certainly doesn't match the €240 for 4. Would not be back in a hurry.

The food was delicious and very high quality. The duck wings for starter were amazing and the steak was cooked to perfection. Great value for money and the service from Ciara was the icing on the cake. Overall a very enjoyable experience.

We had a really lovely meal for Easter in Ribeye, tuna crudo and bruschetta were really delicious to start and steak was fantastic but the real standout was the service. Ciara was such a gem, super friendly and warm and gave excellent recommendations on wine. She made us feel so welcome and looked after. Emma was brilliant also, super attentive without being overbearing and also just a really friendly face. While the food is great the staff are really a credit to the place

We are regular visitors and the reason we keep returning is the food, the comfort and of course the excellent staff.
