The best restaurants in Malahide

05/11/2025: It was alright, but a full Irish breakfast with only meat isn't a full Irish breakfast. There's an extra charge for baked beans, no mushrooms, and no potato cake. In short, the setting is nice and the food is good quality, but don't go there expecting a full Irish breakfast.

19/10/2025: While the helping of "Epic French Toast" was fairly generous with three slices, the ten small slices of banana was too small. At about 30 cent for a banana, and €1 extra charged for it, why not throw loads on if someone goes to the trouble of asking for it?! And the syrup is the Lyle's Maple FLAVOURED syrup, not real maple syrup. They save a few cent but the flavoured stuff is nowhere near the real thing. Come on Cafe Provenance .... stop cutting big corners for small savings .... it gets noticed.

07/07/2025: I really like Taste of the Med. The menu is expansive, with a specialist menu for health. Every food allergy can be catered for. Coffee is good here. The staff are consistently excellent. Unfortunately, it’s not possible to leave an electronic tip. Only cash, if you happen to have some on you. I hope the management rectify this issue as quickly as possible, it’s completely unfair to the ground staff. Sara was running around making sure everyone was attended to. During a particularly busy day, a concert in the castle day, she was excellent. I could see the frustration of customers when they couldn’t add a tip to their card payment. Those passing through won’t come back with cash to tip a young person. At least I could. I have older kids so this issue really bugs me as they need the money for college life. I missed seeing Kirsten there, she’s another wonderful member of staff from my previous visits!

25/06/2025: Over charged for our food. Pointed out she was charging for a cappuccino we didn’t have and just proceeded anyway Not as nice as it used to be. Extremely disappointed

14/09/2025: Best meal we had in Ireland. Steak was divine, truffle fries next level and side of greens a lovely level if flavour.

31/08/2025: Had a meal here last night – overall – really enjoyed it. Firstly, the menu is excellent – the choice/options of dishes are perfect – something for everyone – and everything sounded delicious. We opted for the Burrata and the Croquettes to start. The Burrata dish was presented really well and everything was really fresh. Main negative would be that it was lacking a little seasoning. The croquettes were okay. Whilst the outside was perfectly cooked, perfectly crunchy – the inside was far too soft and the Iberico ham was seriously lacking. Whilst the cherry tomato garnish was very tasty – there was far too much garlic – it overpowered the dish. However, my major criticism with the dish would be that it was not very hot – for something that’s deep-fried, it was just about room-temperature – and really detracted from the overall experience of the dish. We both went with steak for mains = 1 Fillet (medium rare) and 1 Striploin (medium). Firstly – they were perfectly cooked. It is the first time in a very, very, very long time that both of our steaks came out exactly as ordered – 99% of the time, at least 1 of our steaks will be either under cooked or over cooked. But not last night – they were perfect. I had the truffle fries – absolutely delicious. My wife had the green beans and mashed potato – whilst both tasted great – she felt the sesame seeds detracted from the green beans – and the potatoes were too buttery. We both went with the peppercorn sauce – whilst very nice – we’ve had better – plus, the portion size was a little on the stingy side. Again – the food could have been hotter. Because the temperature was lower than it should have been we felt a tad rushed eating it so that it wasn’t cold before we finished it. However, the flavours were excellent. One major plus for the restaurant – the staff are absolutely fantastic – so, so friendly and professional. Despite the minor negatives – we still felt we would like to return. If you’re in Malahide and feel like a steak – go to Ribeye – overall, it is worth it.

12/11/2025: We randomly picked this restaurant when we were staying along the coast in Portmarnock. The booking was easy and last minute and on arrival we were greated by friendly staff. Our food arrived extremely quickly, piping hot and freshly cooked. Everything was very tasty and enjoyable. The house red was also very nice. The restaurant is warm, cosy and tastefully decorated. I would certainly visit again the next time I travel in this area. Give it a try you won't be disappointed

26/10/2025: Without a doubt the best restaurant in Malahide & beyond! The food is incredible. The staff are friendly. The service is quick & the atmosphere is vibey! 5 stars for a 5 star establishment. Nothing but great vibes, great food & great wine! Thank you all !

20/10/2025: I am personally unable to attest to the quality of the food or atmosphere of this establishment. What I can attest to is the fact that the owner has failed to pay my daughter and her friend aapproximately 4000 Euros he owes them. Remember the 2 nice American girls who worked there for a few months. You might have forgotten them.They worked at Sette to help pay for their post graduate year abroad in Europe. While most of the the folks in Ireland were beyond gracious, the owner of this restaurant was anything but. Our families are on a mission to ensure that he pays them every cent they are owed. He has used the Irish Emergency tax process to deprive these two girls of money that is rightfully theirs Basically this constitutes theft from his employees and is, almost certainly, a violation of Irish employment law. We are working with local (Irish)administrative authorities and will be enlisting legal representation and the support of the consulate here in the US and Ireland to ensure that every cent they are owed is paid to them. To patronize this business is your choice!

27/07/2025: Had it from their truck at our park fair.. so tasty! The dough was light and the tomato 🍅 sauce was one of the nicest Iv had 👌

02/03/2025: 5 Stars across the board. Tried Paddy's Pizza Pies for the first time in Malahide and I wish I could give them a higher rating than the maximum of 5. The service was outstanding, really welcoming and friendly. My son had a blast and even got a sticker (he loves it so much, he is still wearing it today). Then we get to the Pizzas, these are to die for. The highest quality and at a reasonable price, brought me straight back to Napoli, dare I say, they were even better! Paddy, your goats cheese pizza is a masterpiece. Keep up the outstanding service, will be back to you soon.

26/10/2025: The menu was surprisingly extensive. Complimentary prawn crackers whetted our appetites, and we tucked into crispy spring rolls (more noodle and mushroom than pork, lifted by a necessary sweet & sour sauce), deep-fried chicken wings (crisp but a little overcooked and overly sweet from the honey), and juicy pan-fried pork dumplings with black vinegar. We shared a main of chicken in black bean sauce with green pepper and onions—flavourful and satisfyingly fresh—on the side, a simple, egg-laden fried rice. Drinks included Sapporo beers and a reasonably priced Table Mountain Sauvignon Blanc.

15/07/2025: We ended up stopping here for dinner by chance and we couldn’t be happier with our choice. The menu is impressively varied, offering something for every taste, and the atmosphere is warm, cozy, and intimate, perfect for a relaxed evening. Everything was exceptional, from the attentive, friendly service to the delicious, beautifully presented food. It’s easily one of the best dining experiences we’ve had in Dublin. Highly recommend.

26/10/2025: Lovely scones, brown bread, and tea. Staff was friendly and prompt. Overall a super spot for an afternoon snack.

22/10/2025: Prices have gone up and are currently misleading on the order online page. That's poor when someone's had to trek back over to ask, but if a business meets me quite firmly after that and says 'sorry' only especially after not handing me a menu before eating I'm not going to return. €10 is value for money for a wee breakfast including a basic tea or coffee. Higher than this is not..it's greedy.

21/08/2025: Soggy and mushy burgers. They look like delivery guy was siting on them. Portion of chips soggy as well and literally 15 pieces for 5 euro.

23/10/2025: I went through several other reviews before writing this, and it seems my experience wasn’t unique. The manager’s behavior came across as quite rude and dismissive. It appeared that service quality varied depending on how much he thought a customer might spend or tip, which made the atmosphere uncomfortable. We were also disappointed to find that there were no vegan options available. During the ordering process, the manager repeatedly mentioned a “15 euros per person” order minimum, which felt unnecessary and disrespectful. When we expressed concern about how we were being treated, there was no apology or effort to improve the interaction. I believe all customers deserve respectful and consistent service regardless of what they order. I hope the management takes this feedback seriously and works on improving communication and customer service. Replying to your Reply on my Review: If a person is trying to order and is looking for options, as a manager, one is supposed to be polite and wait for one to finish the order. We hadn’t finished ordering. For a person who is still looking for options, they don’t want to continually hear about policies and instead be greeted with options. Hopefully some day you guys are able to be unbiased and provide actual quality service.

21/10/2025: Always an excellent experience dining here. Authentic Chinese Thai and Malaysian food, good prices, excellent service, and a lovely atmosphere. One of the best restaurants in malahide without a doubt!

09/10/2025: A restaurant serving Italian cuisine and wines. The food was average – the tagliata, with its toppings, especially the artichoke, was very good, but the meat could have been better and less stringy. The service was quite inconsistent – ​​I was served by two waitresses, one quite good, while the other seemed to be learning. I wasn't asked about the doneness of the meat, and sitting at the back of the room, I felt somewhat overlooked (the other waitress was serving the people sitting at the table in front of me and didn't even pay attention to me).

22/09/2025: Harry's had a strange atmosphere. The owner/manager seemed to be micromanaging the staff and they were almost too attentive to us. Our food was okay. Nice presentation, good authentic food, but lacking in seasoning. For the price, you could find somewhere better. We weren't wowed. There was also a dog inside which seemed to belong to one of the staff. It barked during our meal and jumped at my wife on the way out and began barking as we left. There shouldn't be animals in a food establishment, nor should they be offputting to people. Edit to add, since the restaurant responded to my review: there was no salt and pepper on our table, nor were we offered any. I also make a habit of trying not to add any seasonings at the table, preferring to appreciate the meal as the chef intended it to taste. In this case, it was not incredibly flavourful.
