04/07/2026: Really excellent food. Very generous too. Subtle spice, deep flavour. Great cocktails too. Service went from cool stand offish to very attentive. Overall a fantastic experience that would be better with consistent service but it’s a minor quibble.

27/06/2026: I'm a foodie. Not an influencer. From the in-house made bread to the Arincini and Charcuterie boards Baked Bamenbert and Tagliata of beef this place is a winner. To Grace and her staff who were completely attentive to our needs. The beagle that lurks in the corner is restaurant owned and is an absolute beaut. Go as per menu or let them just deliver it's a joy to be there and providing you're not swinging out of the lampshades all is good. 20 out of 10 everytime I've been there. And yes Grace we will be back soon.

12/03/2026: I went there last week for the 1st time and ordered 2 quarter pounders, chips & onion rings. Food tasted great, they were fast with the order and the girl with curly hair at the counter was really nice!! Would recomend ⭐

09/07/2026: We ordered pizza take away and came back in 20 min to collect it. With the pizza in hand and with 2 kids, I asked if we can use the bathroom. And the waitress said that no, as it is just for sit in customers. That we should try some public bathroom or the pub up the street. we were paying customers, so can Not understand why we were not allowed to use their bathrooms. Pizza was okay, pity this policy spoiled the experience, so definitely wont order there again.

30/05/2026: Bought 2 slices(9 euro each) from the van at Bloom, absolutely disgusting pizza, no cheese at all and barley any pepperoni, and what was there was burnt , base was good but couldn’t make up for what was very over priced and poor.

13/06/2026: Very disappointing experience. I made a reservation for seven people through the restaurant’s website for 8:30 p.m. and received an email confirming that the reservation had been accepted. I replied immediately, thanking them and acknowledging the booking. When we arrived, the maître d’ informed us that we did not have a reservation. He asked how I had booked, and I explained it was through the website. He then told me that I had not responded to confirm the reservation. When I showed him my reply, sent only moments after receiving the confirmation email, he simply said he had been too busy to see it. What was most disappointing was the complete lack of accountability. There was no apology, no acknowledgement that this was their mistake, and no attempt to find a solution. When I asked what time they could seat us, the response was, “We’re very busy, maybe 9:30.” When we explained that was too late, he simply turned and walked away. Again, there was no apology, no effort to help, and no concern that a party of seven with a confirmed reservation had just been turned away. Fortunately, we crossed the road to Al Fresco, where the staff went out of their way to accommodate us despite us having no reservation. They found us a table, treated us exceptionally well throughout the evening, and turned what could have been a ruined night into a fantastic experience. We happily spent €450 there and left a €50 tip because the service was outstanding. As local residents, we were genuinely surprised by how poorly this situation was handled by Il Sorriso. Mistakes happen, but how you respond to them is what defines good hospitality. Unfortunately, on this occasion, there was none.

24/07/2026: Had the spicy wings and a toastie a few weeks ago while soaking up the atmosphere during the Malahide Castle concerts, in the pleasant outdoor seating area. Very fresh and tasty plates. Have returned twice for a swift pint of Guinness and it's been consistently good and creamy each time. Recent renovations have upgraded the experience and it's now a much more comfortable and relaxed atmosphere to enjoy small bites, excellent pints and nice wines and cocktails. Adrian the manager is hands-on and knows his customers. 5 stars every time.

12/07/2026: While the food at this place was actually good, the service from the member of staff waiting the outside tables in this place was one of the worst I've experienced. It took a very long time for my partner and I to be served and when he eventually got round to taking our order he did so in a confrontational manner. Not only did he forget my partner's order but he responded sarcastically to questions and acted generally uninterested. When I asked what lagers were available on draught he responded "it's a bar", like the answer should have been obvious. Another oddity of this place is that you have to pay before receiving your food, which is very much not standard. I do wonder if this is to stop people from cancelling orders due to slow service speeds. Wouldn't come back here.

04/07/2026: I visit this café every week, and the staff are always friendly despite being very busy. Special thanks to the Asian girl. she’s always smiling, efficient, and works incredibly hard. I hope her managers know what a fantastic job she’s doing!

11/05/2026: I came here for a hot matcha for the first time, and after that I really liked it and kept coming back. It’s one of the cafes I always want to visit again. The staff are friendly. The cafe is beautifully decorated and clean. The shop is not very big, but there are quite a few seats to sit and relax.

05/07/2026: The food here isn’t great to be truthful. The portions are ridiculously tiny and taste wise not even worth it. Prices are through the roof. I ordered the prawns and got two prawns that had a rubbery consistency with not a great bit of flavour. For dessert I had a white chocolate dome which could’ve easily been for marks and Spencer’s. Quite honestly , you can find food to the exact same standard at another restaurant for less of a life’s fortune. The thing you pay for is the view, so if you’re trying to impress someone with atmosphere and location I’d go here, but I’d act surprised when they say the food ain’t great.
