Got a lovely table outside sheltered from the wind and sun, and they were very good about the fact we had to wait over an hour for our family to arrive to join us because the dart was closed. They noticed a birthday card on the table and surprised us with a candle and we all sang, I was very moved by that. The food and wine were excellent and accommodated our gluten free and pescatarian diners. I’d visit again.

Nice Italian food, pasta was great, taste and portions. Other dish we had, grilled chicken, the portion was small, only 1 piece of chicken, we got roast potatoes as a side which was fried instead, which was not very nice, or healthy, and we paid extra for it, I thought it is included. We had also lasagne which was amazing. Dessert, chocolate fudge didn't feel very fresh, and it was very sweet, I had better in other places, where it should be more chocolaty and soft. We didn't try pizza, but I could see it looked nice. So in Italian restaurant, better go for Italian food :) The place is a bit cramped from inside, we felt sitting very close to other tables in both sides. There was a single table beside the window, only one I think, place is very small from inside. Bathroom is also small too, with a strange setup. There was no soap, air drier is above the sink and very high, you would get some drops of water very easily when you dry your hand.

Excellent restaurant! I had the Rustica pizza and the Torta di Banoffi for dessert, and frankly, both were delicious. You might think the dessert would be too sweet, but I was pleasantly surprised by how easy it was to eat! I highly recommend it, especially since the service was very friendly and there was a beautiful sea view!

The restaurant could do with a small facelift inside, but the upstairs restaurant has a great view of Scotsman's bay and Sandycove. Very nice place to watch the sunset in the evening. Service was excellent, very attentive. Gnocchi for starter was the highlight. We also had the Arbario rice fritters, Venison Ragu and the Penna Alla Arrabiata Con Pollo, all nice. Overall a decent spot for some Italian food!

DiFontaine's Pizzeria

19/07/2026: Huge tasty Pizza slice, always great quick service, pizza selection is excellent and very good..
15/07/2026: DiFontaine’s is one of those Dublin places that has stayed consistently good for years. I first came here back in 2015 after being told it was one of the best pizzas in Ireland, and honestly, ten years later, I still think that was fair. It is not trying to be traditional Italian pizza, and that is exactly the point. It has its own New York-style identity: huge slices, proper flavour, quick service, and that late-night Dublin/Temple Bar feel that just works. I have ended up here a few times over the years after nights out, but even sober and just passing by, it still hits the same. Most recently I got two huge slices and a Coke for takeaway, then ended up sitting outside on Parliament Street because I could not wait until I got home. The portions are generous, the price is still reasonable for the city centre, and the pizza is genuinely satisfying. A Dublin classic for me. Simple, reliable, filling, and seriously good.
