Vandeleur Walled Garden & Visitor Centre in Kilrush

Visited the gardens with my kids for the Easter break. The cafe is great, as are the gardens, they had a scavenger hunt organised for the kids and everything was well thought out and put together. We really enjoyed it! Staff also 5 stars - well done all

Beautiful renovation works done here make the gardens a fabulous place to visit. The Parkrun on a Saturday morning followed by a tea/coffee in the cafe is a lovely way to start your morning!

Good service, especially to regulars.

There’s an annual fee now and it’s well worth every penny. There’s a new visitor center and museum highlighting the economic growth of the surrounding area. Also the walking paths and landscape has noticeably improved. We thoroughly enjoyed our trip during Halloween. We will certainly return.

Loved these gardens. We visited before Halloween at the start of the bank holiday weekend. The staff were really busy preparing for the mid-term break putting up their Halloween decorations and they didn't disappoint. Their imagination was fabulous. The headstones were hilarious. Well done to all involved.

A highlight of our holiday, we just had the most fantastic visit to Vandeleur. The cafe with delicious, inexpensive lunches and well stocked plant shop were free to visit, however we paid €7 to learn about the history of the estate, in a beautifully presented exhibition area and to visit the walled garden. Definitely worth the reasonable entrance fee, the garden was a stunning delight. Full of nature and beautifully tended unusual trees, shrubs, plants and hidden surprises. Signage was clear and informative, as were the super helpful plant labels. Was very impressed by the patient Head Gardener who took time to tell us so much more about the garden and the superb customer service - a special thanks to Ger who made us feel so incredibly welcome. Absolutely recommended, a really special place!
