Walker 1781 in Sligo

A bunch of work staff were here to celebrate ahead of Christmas. Had to pay a deposit in advance. Night before meal manager called the organizer to say the menu might be limited and the full menu not available. Despite all this we went ahead. Noise deafening from large group behind. However not the restaurants fault. The bread and dips were delicious. No charge. However the food prices were just too much. 22 euro for a chicken tikka masala? It was the only option I felt I had.. the chicken supreme was almost 27 euro and a colleague had it but it was tiny and dry. Disappointing but we had fun ourselves but overall I don’t think I’d go back.

We went there for a drink without going to the restaurant. The bartender is very professional and friendly, and the pub decor, dating back to 1781, is worth seeing. The Guinness is particularly delicious, and that evening there was a Latin music trio with Felip & the 2 Eddies—the icing on the cake!

My wife and stopped in for lunch and had a great experience. The restaurant was very welcoming, the food delicious and the service was top notch.

Highly recommend a trip to this restaurant, 5 stars for food, atmosphere but most importantly top class service. The staff are what make Walkers great, Emmet is so professional and Fiach is a joy to talk to behind the bar. We were also lucky enough to meet the head chef and thank her for some of the most memorable and tasty food we have encountered in Sligo in a long time. We are already booked in again and we so much look forward to another lovely dining experience ☺️

Fabulous evening with family in Walkers, our new favourite spot to dine in Sligo, the restaurant is beautifully decorated, the staff are so friendly and the food was amazing- had crispy goats cheese and herb crusted cod!!! Can't wait to go back to again 😊

I had an excellent dining experience with my family at Walkers Restaurant. We started with the chicken wings, which were perfectly cooked, crispy on the outside, tender inside, and packed with flavour. For the main, I chose the cod, and it was absolutely delicious: fresh, flaky, and beautifully presented, with sides that complemented it perfectly. The service was outstanding from start to finish; the staff were attentive, warm, and genuinely made us feel welcome. The restaurant itself is stunning, with elegant décor that creates a relaxed yet refined atmosphere, ideal for both casual meals and special occasions. Overall, Walkers Restaurant is a gem. Fantastic food, great service, and beautiful surroundings make it a place I’ll definitely be returning to.

Can’t believe I came to Ireland for smoked brisket, but it was delicious.

Food was just excellent, 5 ladies out for dinner with varying tastes, every dish was delicious, staff very friendly with welcoming smiles (we were a bit late) service was perfect, a lovely relaxed atmosphere & to top it all off very reasonable, will definitely be back.

Great choice for a coeliac. Food was 5 star quality. Highly recommend. Vegan , vegetarian options available. Relaxed atmosphere.
