Incredible restaurant . Visited whilst on my way to Dublin and was not disappointed . The chicken wings and fish and chips I got were outstanding and some of the best I've ever had . Staff were lovely as well . Couldn't recommend more.

For a small, rural village to have a pub serving such good food in a lovely atmosphere is a great addition to the food scene. The owner and staff are friendly, welcoming, knowledgeable, helpful. The service is prompt but not rushed. The eclectic/quirky mishmash of the decor works well. The menu offers a wide selection and there are specials. We had house sparkling water, which was a nice idea and good value compared to bottled. I had the salmon, beautifully cooked, my only minor gripe? It could have had more mash and sauce to accompany it. My dining partner had the roast beef which was tasty, tender with great meat-juice made gravy, a massive Yorkshire pudding but was not served at a warm enough temperature. My trifle was somewhat deconstructed but made in-house with sherry and very nice. My partner had the crumble with custard and ice cream which was delicious. As I paid I was asked how the meal was, I expressed the same sentiment to her as I have stated here, her reaction was one of gratitude for the feedback and she said she would inform the kitchen. I found this a most memorable and impressive reaction. This place is less than 10 minutes off the N4, just outside Mullingar, I suggest you try it, just not on Monday or Tuesday, they don’t serve food those days.

The lemon cheese cake was tops, absolutely delicious and a generous slice. I recommend you all have some.

Couldn’t recommend highly enough … food service and atmosphere all excellent.. friendly staff warm fire and this week’s cheesecake was amazing !!! Lemon meringue cheesecake… nicest I’ve ever tasted !!!

My family and I went here for my birthday meal. The staff were lovely and very accommodating to our dietary requirements. The service was great very quick but still had great customer service along with it. We all ordered different food and were in agreement that our food was lovely. Great flavour and good portion sizing. The owner came over to talk with us and we briefly stated it was my birthday in a passing comment during conversation which they had taken more notice of then we realised as the staff came over with a surprise birthday dessert with happy birthday written on the plate which to us made a big impression of how much they care for their customers and truly do listen to what we say. Overall this was an amazing experience and we will be back again.

Visited for a birthday lunch, we asked for all courses to come at once as one of us didn't want a starter and they were incredibly accommodating and everything came out really fast. Food was great and service was brilliant too, highly recommend
