Yang Guo Fu Ma La Tang 杨国福麻辣烫 in Dublin

The most authentic 麻辣烫I have ever tasted outside China. The staff are very polite and the price is reasonable.

I have had malatang in Tokyo and Seattle, and Yang Guo Fu can definitely compete with the best. They have a nice selection of vegetables, noodles, and meat (three cheers for the rice noodles!) and such a rich, tasty broth. The place is busy, and the staff was very helpful at getting us seating (one of our party was using a cane, and could not stand for long). You'll be sharing tables, but it's a friendly place and such a great meal on a rainy Dublin evening. Very affordable.

It was delicious, and I would like to come back again. It's a system where you choose your favorite ingredients yourself and they make it for you. The meat (beef, pork, lamb) is in the refrigerated section. You can choose the level of spiciness, and the price depends on the weight of the ingredients. I chose lots of tofu skin, shiitake mushrooms, vegetables, shrimp, and lamb, and ordered it extra spicy. The price for the weighed portion was 27 euros, but there's a discount if you spend over 15 euros, so I paid 21 euros. You can also mix your own dipping sauce.
