Have visited for food many times over the years when passing by. Came in for lunch on a Friday this time.
Quick, efficient service with wide menu and tasty food at reasonable prices and always has plenty of people eating here.
Just had breakfast there and served by a lovely waitress she went out of her way to make my daughter an iced coffee with oat milk, and it was perfect 👌
Warm welcome reception from staff. Room was a decent size, very clean and tidy, but the double bed was the smallest I’ve seen in a long time. The mattress was past its best, the pillows thin. The bathroom was also clean and well maintained. Dinner was a hit and miss job with excellent starters of Deep Fried Garlic Mushrooms and Smoked Salmon which we both enjoyed. Unfortunately the Mains were not up to the same standard with a very unappetising Turkey and Ham Roast Dinner, which looked good, but sadly the Turkey was very dry and the Roast Potatoes were inedible. My Sirlion steak was well presented and all its accompaniments were fab but the steak itself, which was a good cut of meat was well beyond the medium rare I had asked for. Happiest Diner of the evening was the hotel cat who didn’t seem too worried by the dry turkey and tucked in with gusto. Breakfast was a really good Full Irish job, and was easily the best thing we ate at the hotel. Large free car park available for guests.
I travel to Sligo on a regular basis and pass the Yeats country
I have to be honest - the exterior of the property would not be very appetising but on this occasion this week I called in
Food was fantastic, I would describe it as real home cooking
I even went back a few days later and I wasn’t in the area
Staff very friendly
Decor a bit outdated but I actually liked it but I’m sure others wouldn’t!
10/10 for food & service and I will now be a frequent visitor!
