21/08/2026: I have known Shijo Shijo Bhaskaran since 2003, from his days with TAJ Hotels, so I knew we were in for something special when we decided to visit The Holy Grail, New Ross for our first Sadya of the year on Atham 1. Three families made the journey all the way from Dublin to experience the legendary hospitality that Shijo and his team are known for, and every mile was worth it. From the moment we arrived, we felt truly welcomed. A beautifully arranged table, complete with traditional banana leaves, was waiting for us. Once seated, Shijo, his brother Shibu, and their wonderful team served each dish with care and attention. The spread was exceptional: Erissery, Olan, Kalan, Pacha Moru, Madhurakkari, Koottu Curry, Pachadi, Kichadi, Inji Curry and many more, each prepared to perfection and bursting with authentic flavour. To crown the feast, we were treated to two delicious varieties of payasam, providing the perfect sweet ending to an unforgettable meal. Despite the restaurant being full, the service remained smooth, attentive, and perfectly paced. It was truly "food for the soul." We left with our hearts and stomachs equally full, completely satisfied by the experience.
