Squealing Pig

14/06/2025: Succulent sausages and tender chicken wings! Me and the family really enjoyed. Not too buggy friendly😂🤭 besides that I would highly recommend!
16/05/2025: We were visiting friends in Monaghan and they suggested we go to the Squealing Pig, I was ready for pub food and was pleasantly surprised when we went upstairs to Porky's. It was elegant, cozy and the staff were so kind and welcoming. We sat by a window so I could see everything going on in the square. As for ordering, it was hard to pick one thing to eat.
For starter we got the crispy garlic Monaghan mushroom, which were the freshest, tastiest things I have ever had. I would have loved to take some home, but they won't last a 13 hour flight.
As for dinner three of us got the sirloin steak and my husband got the ribs. The sirloin was cooked to perfection and melted in your mouth, The portion of the ribs were so huge, my husband could only eat half, they were fall off the bone great.
Unfortunately we were too full for dessert, and that was hard to just say no.
Porky's is a must when visiting Monaghan.

12/04/2025: The place is terriible the staff are not friendly and treat you like robots rather than people the place is dirty and when you ask for something it's like it it irritates them when they have to go get it like I'm interrupting them there so rude and have no charisma it's depressing.

25/04/2025: So disappointed cannot recommend this restaurant. Of the 5 meals we had only one was above average. One was cold and the veg was under cooked. The other three were just poor. Three of the four desserts were verging on unedible so much so that I refused to pay for two of them. My guests were too polite to tell me how poor the food was before I paid, if I had known I would not have paid for all the mains.
01/01/2025: Perfect for any event, birthday, lunch, dinner, afternoon tea, family get-together. Beautiful grounds. Friendly staff.

07/05/2025: Went here to try the carvery on Monday and have to say the food is lovely! But I didn't have the same experience with the staff! The woman at the till for the food charged me twice and wouldn't listen when I tried to explain to her. Maybe I was in the wrong but as a restaurant it's up to the staff to listen to the customer(not jump down there throat) and explain what happend properly. Found this woman tp be very rude!
13/12/2024: Almost thirty of us went here for a Christmas party. I was very impressed. The function room was a perfect size for our numbers and nicely laid out. The service was fantastic, in particular our waitress, Emma, who could not do enough for us. The restaurant bent over backwards to cater for any dietary requirements and even printed up a personalised menu for those of us who had said requirements. That was a first! The food was excellent and I enjoyed all three courses.
