20/04/2025: Just home from La Bucca,in Ratoath...we pop in every now and then...they open at 4pm..which suits us as on way home from work at that time....the last few times we noticed an extremely nice young girl serving us...so friendly, pleasant, accommodating with admiral manners....I eat small meals...often only having 2 starters and it's never a problem...today she was exceptional when I was only having 1...pleasantly didn't mind at all...I asked her was she local...from Ashbourne...on way out Management was at front desk...and I mentioned I would like to Compliment..I think he said that's Lorraine..so Lorraine you are a asset to La Bucca, Ratoath...THANK YOU for your impeccable service..and oh, the food is great also....Marie H

15/04/2025: I previously visited this restaurant and was very disappointed with the quality of the food and most importantly the attitude of the maitre d. I did a review at the time and for some mysterious reason it has been deleted. Based on feedback from some friends I decided I would give it a go again as it is the only restaurant in the village that is quiet and comfortable. Although we had booked well in advance and had asked for a table downstairs we were told we had to go upstairs with no explanation or apology from the maitre d. As it turned out the staff upstairs could not have been more helpful or friendly and took our order immediately. The bottle of wine (a cheap Primitivo) was quite expensive but drinkable. The steak for the Surf and Turf was ribeye rather than fillet and came medium well instead of medium rare as ordered. All in all the food was edible but the friendly young waiting staff carried the evening. The Maitre D should stay at home and let the staff run the show. He has no personality and certainly one of the grumpiest I’ve met

29/03/2025: Just walked nine as a family of four and we were accommodated with a cosy table immediately. Food was excellent. Very tasty and great portion and the service was friendly and super efficient. We will definitely be back soon.

Last time it was emptier, less saucy, etc and the service was slow with two staff members, but Gabriela (I might spell it wrong) made my order perfectly (super saucy and cheesy), was super nice and offered great fast service. :D
