Kate Browne's Bar
Ardfert
14/01/2026: Kate Browne’s is exactly the kind of place you hope to find in rural Ireland: warm, confident, and quietly excellent. From the moment you walk in, it feels like a proper Irish pub should — cosy interiors, friendly staff, and that reassuring sense that food is taken seriously here. We came for a relaxed meal and left genuinely impressed. The menu balances traditional Irish comfort food with more modern, refined dishes, and everything we tried was well cooked, beautifully presented, and clearly made with quality local ingredients. Portions are generous without being heavy, and there’s something for everyone — meat lovers, seafood fans, and vegetarians alike.
The atmosphere deserves a special mention. It’s lively without being loud, welcoming without being touristy. You’ll see locals chatting at the bar, families enjoying a meal, and visitors who clearly did their research. It feels authentic — not staged.
⭐ Helpful tips for visitors
• Book in advance — this is essential. Kate Browne’s is very popular with both locals and tourists, especially at weekends and during holiday periods. Walk-ins are risky.
• Great stop if you’re nearby. Perfect if you’re visiting Tralee, Ardfert village, or heading to/from Banna Beach.
• Come hungry. Portions are generous, and desserts are worth saving space for.
• Family-friendly but grown-up enough. Suitable for children, yet still a lovely spot for couples or friends.
• Relax and take your time. This isn’t fast food — it’s a place to sit, talk, and enjoy the experience.
In short: Kate Browne’s isn’t just a meal stop — it’s a destination. If you want genuine Irish hospitality, excellent food, and a cosy atmosphere, put it on your list — just don’t forget to book ahead.
28/12/2025: A roast dinner for the ages. You'd think you would be sick of eating turkey and ham on the 28th December, but not here. God bless Kate Browne 5 stars.

Pizza Time Restaurant and Coffee Shop
Ardfert
01/06/2025: Fab pizzas. Bit old fashioned interior but when the food is good , who cares.
Staff very friendly and quick service . Everything was nice and clean
02/04/2025: Have always loved Pizza time , however the past two occasions I have ordered food for collection, it was very poor. Carbonara was horrific as it smelled like the cheese was definitely gone off. A rip off with the small containers they are now using for their garlic mayonnaise and the price they are charging.
This used to be our favourite place for takeaway but definitely won't be going back anytime soon.
