07/11/2023: We stayed in June 2023. James was an amazing host, personable and very helpful. Location was midway between the Dingle Peninsula and Killarney so was a perfect home base for our travels. Unfortunately the room was in need of a serious upgrade in multiple ways. We were in a family room, with very little hanging space in the bathroom for towels or toiletries and no shelf in the shower to hold shampoo or soap. I would recommend a suction cup corner shelf for the shower. The caulking also needs a through cleaning or replacing all together. It would be nice if the host provided bar soap for showering. Face cloths would also be recommended. The pillows were plush, but the beds are hard and you could feel the springs beneath you. They definitely need a substantial mattress pad. One person even slept on top of the comforter without covers for added padding. Americans expect a top sheet in addition to a comforter especially on warm summer days without AC you want a bit of coverage but not a full comforter. They did provide a fan when asked but should automatically be provided in all rooms. The carpet was my biggest complaint, and would not let anyone touch the floor with their bare feet. Ultimately the carpet needs to be replaced ASAP and wouldn't recommend they rent that room until the carpet has had a through shampoo cleaning with no furniture in the room. Very poor overhead lighting
