The best restaurants in Charlestown-bellahy

17/02/2024: Food to die for. I got an amazing baked potato. Massive size with tuna sweet corn and melted cheese in a bowl with a warning that it was very 🔥 bowl was on a plate which had an amazing salad to go with the baked potato. All I had to ask for was butter so I could melt it into the potato. Absolutely gorgeous and it was so big I could not finish the potato. Highly recommended as prices are very good as well.

20/01/2024: If your looking for quintessential Irish home/b&b this is it. Anthony is a fantastic host and a wonderful chef. The breakfast is always amazing. The building itself has an old world feel, with a lot of personality. I would highly recommend for an overnight stay.

12/01/2024: Walking into this guesthouse, I knew I was going to enjoy my stay. Situated next to a babbling river, we were easily able to find the location and parking was available up front. Anthony welcomed us in and helped us to our room. In the sitting room, there was a big bouquet from Violet's florist across the street with lilies smelling bright and Christmas-ready. There are paintings and photos and lovely antique furniture lining the halls and you feel welcomed in. The bed was very comfortable and warm. The room was clean and bright and very spacious. The shower had warm water, great water pressure. We were provided suggestions for local sites and places to grab a bite to eat. Anthony's breakfast was exceptional. We were spoiled by offerings of full Irish, fresh fruit, coffee, brown bread and marmalade. We can't stop talking about the eggs and potatoes. Still!

22/03/2024: 1 star for the fact that this restaurant went very bad. We ordered a rare stake, got a well done one. Chef came out trying to convince us that it is rare. No replacement was offered. Carbonara was plain flavourless. Waitresses was just plain ignoring us after that complaint, wouldn't reapond to calls as we wanted more drinks. The worst of it is that we were in to celebrate a small birthday and the place was absolutely quiet so I really don't get why we were ignored and we weren't demanding. Absolutely appalling service combined with just pure discrimination. To be avoided at all costs. You're better of at McDonald's than this place. Absolutely not coming back nor recommending the place for anything.
