The best restaurants in Carrickmacross

02/09/2025: Seriously overpriced for the quality of what you get out of there. Save yourself a bundle and shop literally anywhere else and for your own sake avoid the deli counter in here at all costs. €5.50 for roll with rock hard hash browns and rashers the woman behind the counter could barely break apart. Why, in any world, she would see/feel the absolute piss poor quality of their food and still have the gall to serve it to me is unexcusable and unacceptable.

29/11/2025: Bar man said we were "too rowdy" and "causing hassle for others". Disappointed by the service considering the photo attached is how we were for the night. Bar man took a photo of us all and didn't say anything concerning and then decided we were all too mouldy and causing hassle for others despite us being the only people present. No wonder small bars are losing business when this is what people are met with.

26/05/2025: Beautiful cafe to stop at either for a quick (delicious) coffee or the best hot chocolate you could ever have!! Got a treat for the road but I wish we had time to grab a loaf of bread for sandwiches! 10/10

24/05/2025: Absolutely love Hughes Coffee Shop. Food is fabulous, and the staff are so nice, they couldn't do more for you.

22/04/2025: Our friends took us here while visiting them in Carrickmacross and said this is the best place to go and try your first Guinness. 5 pints of Guinness later, and they were not wrong. It's a really cool pub with very welcoming and friendly staff.

05/05/2026: We were very happy to be invited to a private family celebration at the weekend to Cavallino's . The staff were great , I can't usually drink wine but after chatting with the owner, I found out the wine had zero nitrates so I could enjoy a few glasses with my meal . The selection of starters was prefect, bruschetta, garlic bread , cheeses and meats delicious. On to the mains we had a selection of extra tasty pastas , plenty of options for all palates . My favourite was the spicy arrabbiata and the veggie pizza. Looking forward to getting back to try some other dishes

30/10/2025: I was attracted by the Irish 🇮🇪 and Palestine 🇵🇸 flag floating together! And mashallah, the place is cozy and the service excellent! Great food and great caffé at a fair price!

07/10/2025: Absolutely love this place since it became Avenue Coffee (was a Rock salt). They somehow made it even better. Lovely staff, lovely coffee! The outside got a great revamp too... Looks even better now!!

30/04/2026: Just at the good weather you can enjoy coffee at this place. No place where to sit inside. Bakery is too sweet, but coffee great 👍

30/04/2026: Rip Off. Couldn't believe they charged us 40 cents extra per Sausage Roll to heat them up!! Oddly wasnt extra heat up the Lasagne. Now that's what I call a hard neck. 2 words; NEVER AGAIN
