15/11/2024: Absolutely lovely place. Didn't know where to eat out so I looked at reviews and menus. This place was bang on.
I had the ham hash omg cooked from scratch. Himself had a full Irish. Nothing was left on the plates let me tell you.
If you want good quality and freshness this is the place. Pricing is good aswell. Staff are lovely and friendly can't beat the good Irish warm welcome. I like to support local small business that's what makes a community.
Place is spacious presentation is fantastic. Unfortunately I didn't get time to take a picture of the food as I was too busy looking at how good it was and we tucked right in. π
Keep up the good work. We will be back.

28/11/2024: The place was very nice and the staff was very friendly. The portions of roast were enormous.....which we found a bit off-putting because the meal was cold by the time we got to the end of it. Most unusual for me I couldn't actually finish it because of the portion size. This might suit some people, so I'll say no more!

10/07/2024: As a regular in the straffan inn I am appalled to see it go so bad!!! From bad beer to no staff or staff that are total novices it's just not acceptable!!! Filthy smelly gents toilet in the bar!! Ladies toilet that is constantly freezing cold and dirty in the lounge!! Enough is enough the K Club boss turns a blind eye to all of this!! Stay well away folks as I will!!!!!

Donadea Forest Cafe
20/10/2024: Love this place. Pamela and her staff are extremely passionate in giving a forest wonderland experience. It's quaint and homely. Even in autumn and winter Donadea coffee house will warm you with hot chocolate or coffee after your walk. A food menu has been recently introduced and you can sit outside at the picnic tables, enjoying the beauty around you. Treats for dogs and food for the ducks.
15/10/2024: A decent cafe in the center of the forest. The gastronomic offer has been expanded to include hot dogs and lots of cookies.
Attention. You can only pay in cash or with the Revolut app from your phone.

16/09/2024: I spent two hours in the Abbey Lodge, food was brilliant, the two waitresses took a good half an hour to recognise me to take my order, walked around, took everyone else's glasses from the tables around me and not once acknowledged my brother and I. When one of them DID come around, I felt I impositioned her as she came around with a face on her.
But the next thing about atmosphere is that I felt soured towards it due to her attitude and therefore I didn't feel the need to spend any more of my money as I didn't feel welcomed nor wanted.
I hope to see an improvement in service later in the future.

17/11/2024: I recently had the chance to visit this place, and it was quite crowded, which piqued my interest. I decided to give it a try and ordered the chicken curry breast with a side of rice ,a bag of chips, schezwan chicken, and a side of fried rice.
The chicken curry was excellent, with rich flavors, and the schezwan chicken had a sweet touch that complemented the dish well. The sauce was fresh and generously filled with vegetables and chicken, making it a satisfying addition. Overall, the food was good, with generous portions and solid taste.
However, there were a couple of drawbacks. The restaurant forgot to include my bag of chips, which was disappointing, and they only accept cash payments, which can be inconvenient. Despite these minor issues, the experience was decent, and the food was worth trying. If youβre in the area, itβs a spot worth checking out!

02/05/2024: Great place for great wine and tapas style meal. Loved it. Has wines not available at the LCBO. We xhise a Spanish wine and then bought an extra bottle to take home.
