13/12/2025: I have being up here all year doing an course & the last weekend , i popped into tbis place tonight, Wow what an great pub that serves home comfort food , What an great pub to have in your town , i had fish & chips & so did 3 other people on my table when tne food came out , i got 2 piece's of battered fish on my plate & loads pf chips , everybody who was at the table were very happy with the amout of food on the plate .
We didnt have any dessert but we will return for desserts at another time .
The staff were friendly, kind & couldn't do enough
12/12/2025: Carvery offer comprising of over cooked food. 'Pile it high' may appeal to some, but not for me.

The Bakery at Acorn & Oak

15/08/2025: We had no booking but they were still happy to accommodate a party of 7. The food was delicious and the serve was quick and friendly. I would highly recommend this restaurant and hope to visit again soon.
04/08/2025: Solid take-away thin crust pizza after a day at the beach. The dough is more crunchy than chewy. The vegetable pizza has a good amount of toppings, and the cheese is evenly spread. All the ingredients are fresh except for maybe the jarred jalapenos which add a nice heat to the pizza.

19/09/2025: My self and my friend called in yesterday for lunch after the ploughing championships. OMG what a disappointment. I had the special. Bacon and cabbage jezz it was all fat and tasted off ๐คจ. My friend ordered lasagna, which there was no meat!!! It was supposed to come with dide salad and chips. We had to ask the waitress for the salad and chips. Side salad came and again had to ask for chip. Unfortunately my friend had paid for the meal before I could complain ๐ it was disgusting I didn't even eat mine. We went to the bathroom before we left, passing the kitchen which was open view to the public. The kitchen was a mess. Open banmares which food everywhere and chef texting on his phone. Never again. How do they get away with this. ๐๐ก
