The Lime Tree

Tulfarris holiday village
05/07/2026: We stayed for one night recently. We stayed in a double room in the newer part of the hotel. We ate dinner in the bar and breakfast in the restaurant area the next morning. Reception staff were friendly and welcoming. They were happy to chat about our journey to the hotel and made us feel relaxed. The room design was very nice. However, we were really disappointed by the cleanliness of the room. The windows were filthy, covered in bird poo and cobwebs as well as fingerprints etc., which spoiled the otherwise lovely view. The toilet was filthy (see photos), with brown splash marks and brown marks which suggested that the toilet hadn't been properly cleaned in weeks/months. There were cobwebs on the wall in the bathroom. At dinner in the bar, the mushroom burger, which was advertised to have a vegan option, did not actually have a vegan option. We looked at the bar menu before booking becuase, as someone with specific diet requirements, I know to plan ahead. Instead, I was offered a plate of pasta with veggies which was not very nice. Although well cooked, the sauce tasted primarily of celery, which ruined it for me. My wife's salad was also disappointing; the leaves were wilted and the overall dish was quite thrown together. She didn't enjoy it. Staff in the bar were nice and apologised for the lack of a vegan burger. At breakfast, the staff were pretty slow to look after guests. Guests left waiting to be seated, despite the fact that the restaurant was mostly empty and there were 3 staff standing around doing very little. I asked for non-dairy milk and they gave me some. I had to ask for coffee, which I think should be offered to guests if it's not obviously available. A small point but it all makes a difference to the level of service. The restaurant is beautifully styled, however, and the view is really lovely. The whole experience didn't really feel luxury, despite the very nice surroundings. The building is nicely decorated and the setting is beautiful. The service was okay, but not what I'd expect for a 240euro-a-night stay. The food was bad in my view. It was bar food, in fairness, but bad food is bad food and it wasn't exactly cheap. The room was dirty. There is no excuse for a dirty toilet. This could be a really lovely hotel if they just sort out what seem to be mostly staffing issues (housekeeping/kitchen). As it is, I would not recommend staying here unless you get a good deal or something. Or you really like the golf course!
09/06/2026: Amazing experience while attending my daughters wedding. Staff were brilliant, service exceptional and rooms spotlessly clean. Food was fabulous both at the wedding and in the bar. The spa is beautiful and treatments were gorgeous I highly recommend the hot stone massage. Really couldn't fault Tulfarris Hotel at all
