Aboretum in Carlow

Worth a visit anytime of year...food options are reasonable & I line with most eateries of this type

Staff were great help especially with wheelchairs its very accessible

Shops were good. Cafe not for me. Got the soup which was overly salted. Not much choice on the carvery I thought . They didn't do half portions and the portion were not that big anyway. No green veg. Really. You cook what you grow you say.. I'm been critical but at 18.50 euro for a plate that's not good. This is how I ended up with the soup. I was going toi just get a slice of cake but hell 8.50€ a slice. I'd rather cook it myself. Not my first experience in this place. My 3rd and I will not be returning for the food. Sorry Rachel but things have changed since you left.

It's quite expensive but the selection of plants is great. They have lots of other fab things in the shop that make grear gifts. The restaurant is lovely and there is a small walk outside and a playpark for kids. Staff are always very nice too.

I visited the Arboretum Leighlinbridge today. I was getting flowers for plant pots to go on a grave. Seeking advice i approached a staff member. Unfortunately I didn't get his name. He had glasses and longish hair under a baseball cap. Any more helpful he could not have been. Advising on what plants/flowers would better survive winter weather then sorting out bulbs to bloom in spring. Nothing was a problem to this very helpful and friendly fellow. Shortly after I asked a staff member called Beibhin about the A List mentioned on various signs around the premises. She promptly got me sorted with the App . To both staff members it seemed that customer service and satisfaction was top priority. It was my first time visiting the Arboretum but definitely won't be my last. If the measure of a business is the quality of the staff then the Arboretum will do just dandy.
