Akayu in Portlaoise

My go to place for some good and quick food in Portlaoise. I keep getting the same thing by mistake because I always forget what I got last time, but hey if it works it works.

Loved the food here. Was a bit apprehensive because it’s Portlaois, but the food was so tasty. We didn’t have a booking but were sat down straight away! The sushi is top notch and would definitely recommend their Chicken Katsu Curry it was very flavourful

Very nice food and reasonable priced 10/10 would recommend, staff are very nice, the restaurant is small but very cozy, cant recommend enough!

The assorted sushi platter was a satisfying 2 person meal, well presented. I mean, I really ate with my eyes first that day!! A Fabulous splash of color on the plate. The staff waited on us professionally and amicably. Overall, it was an enjoyable experience.

Fabulous place for sushi, Asian dishes. My son, who swims on a regular basis, loves to recharge with a huge selection of sushi dishes. Food is top quality and reasonably priced. Well worth a visit.

First of all - review is about take-away order. It's a pretty nice Sushi. However, it is better to add €2-3 to the price instead of reducing the amount of filling in Sushi. Previously there was less amount of rice and more filling. You can see in the photos that the amount of rice/filling isn't balanced. Too much rice :( However, still a great place to eat-in or order a takeaway.

Love this place. Enjoyed their chicken satay with fine noodles

Had sushi box 1 and it was very fresh very nice tasted banging and looked savage too. Can't recommend enough definitely give them a try
