Took my Portuguese partner here and we were both blown away. She said it tasted just like home which says it all! The food was packed with flavour, portions were generous, and everything felt properly authentic. You can tell the kitchen knows what they’re doing even the little details were spot on. The staff were lovely too friendly, relaxed, and made us feel welcome without rushing us. If you’re Portuguese and missing home, or just someone who loves proper food with heart, this place is well worth a visit. We’ll definitely be back.

Wow & wow, my new favourite place to eat in Kilkenny ! Cafe style tables, delicious food, friendly server ! I had Piri Piri chicken with salad, few fries - delicious. Friend had Portuguese style prawns & salad - super yummy ! When I return, I will have the prawns ! I was hungry ... forgot to take a photo !

Food is well-prepped and full of unique flavors. Setting is very very spare, but pleasant. Clams and grilled sardines (special) for starters both straightforward, well-prepped and tasty. Mains were picanha, and two specials—pork stew and grilled lamb chops. Picanha and pork stew were uniquely flavored and tasty. Pork stew was full of different ingredients (including salty and sour flavor bombs) and textures (crisp pickled vegs, olives, crisp fried potatoes). Lamb chops were well-seasoned and tasty, though slightly over-cooked. Sides of black beans and veggie rice were nice accompaniments. Dessert, a variation of tiramisu was flavorful and not over the top sweet. Very good. Service was attentive and friendly. Portions were generous and prices were extremely reasonable. The food is unique for this part of the world. If I lived in Kilkenny algarve grill wld be a regular stop.

We have often been here but more recently it has gone up a notch with an enhanced interior and menu. The interior decor is very attractive with a lovely Portuguese theme. The food is first class with very fresh ingredients expertly prepared. We had pica pau and the clams for starters and for mains piri pira chicken with the house sauce and a wonderfully prepared fish dish. This is a truly continental restaurant with informality and character; and the emphasis on authenticity and taste. Therefore it is not a "fancy" restaurant with inflated prices and expectations. The waiter was very gracious and efficient. The price represented really good value. Looking forward to being back soon!
