Ambledown Cottage in Glasslough

Make some time for this great little spot with loads of history. Very friendly and helpful staff. Good quality ingredients and flavours. Bring your own beer / wine. Worth booking if visiting Glaslough. Halloumi Fries were great. Accompanying garlic mayo was garlicicuous.

The pizza here was actually amazing! Staff here are lovely, It was an unexpected good place and the girl served me was really cute Joe

I have been here a few times and it has always been good. So unexpected considering where it is. We have a 70 mile journey to get there, that says enough!

Beautiful location with very friendly staff

What a beautiful setting! They have it spot on with lovely staff, beautifully decorated rooms, good tunes at a nice level. Very well kept, including the garden and toilets. Loads of lovely little touches. It's just a shame about the pizza's. You guys almost had a perfect combo but the pizzas aren't great. The bases are like those cheap frozen pizzas and your toppings are VERY minimal, especially the meat. We barely got any chicken on one and pepperoni on the other. Very scrimp on those which was a big let down. Lovely garlic mayo though. A few improvements and you would have a 5 star winner.

The service was amazing and the staff were brilliant. So friendly and just the right amount of presence. The atmosphere is quirky, cool, niche and open. You enter a village nook and find yourself in an open air New York-style Manhattan premium eatery. The best thing, hands down, is the food. The Garlic & Parmesan Fries and Halloumi Fries were both out of this world. Each of our pizzas, the Touch of Class and Smokey BBQ were so good. Superb flavours, fresh ingredients and just the right size. I highly recommend trying this place out!!
