Staff here are absolutely delightful to engage with. Friendly, fun and chatty. Long may it last. Nice place to sit outside also. Sun trap!

Hook & Ladder Castletroy

21/07/2026: Gorgeous food. Lovely staff. Highly recommend for a good breakfast ❤️

09/07/2026: We ordered the beans on toast and the buddha bowl (both vegan). The toast was soaked through with the liquid meaning we had to use a fork and knife to eat it. The beans were lukewarm and kinda hard (like they had just been taken out of a can and hastily heated up). The Buddha bowl was fine, nothing super noteworthy. Service was pretty slow and we had to flag down staff multiple times to get water and our bill. The space itself is nice, but I wish they spent the same effort on the actual food to improve flavors!
