Always great wholesome food. Small or large plate choice. Lovely staff but our timing was bad. Spent more time waiting for toasted sandwich than we had to eat. Wouldn't stop me returning tho!

We visited on a recent trip to Portarlington. Staff were welcoming and friendly, as well as very helpful and informative. The Anvil has a great selection of drinks, which are reasonably priced. It also has a fantastic outside space at the rear, which was a lovely little surprise.

We popped in for a quick lunch. Had a very tasty healthy cold meat salad and chicken and mushroom vol au vent. Very satisfied with the quality and quantity and choice of the food. Also price very attractive, less than 20 euro ! Staff were extremely helpful and attentive. Clean pub throughout.
