Applegreen in Kilkenny

12/11/2025: I have dined here on several occasions recently. The service is very good. Staff are friendly and helpful. It is a large bar and restaurant with an open area out back. I also think there is some accommodation here too. The premises is very clean and the layout is ideal. Location wise it is perfectly situated near McDonagh junction railway station and shopping centre and also not too far from the city centre, 5 min walk. The food is very tasty, servings are good and big. Like everywhere else, prices have gone up however the quality of food makes up for that. I will definitely return again for the fish and chips, it was very good.

26/09/2025: We came for a round of drinks and some food to accompany. Pizza was just ok (O'Sullivans and Cafe 500 beat you on every side). We were sat in the intermediate room, which needs to be warmer, as at the moment it feels like sitting in a dark basement. Pints and cocktails slightly overpriced. Service good.
