Ard Bia at Nimmos in Galway

If I could give them 6 stars, I would. Took a day trip to Galway in search of seafood. We stopped at a restaurant for some oysters and prior to leaving our waitress recommended we head to Ard Bia for mussels, so we did! Holy cow—they were absolutely phenomenal!! The mussels were fresh, cooked to perfection, and the sauce they were in was incredible. The mussels basically melted in your mouth—something I’ll dream about for years to come. We followed our lunch with tea for two and coffee cake, both of which did not disappoint. The coffee cake was just sweet enough but not too much, and the caramel drizzled on top was chewy deliciousness—perfect with a nice cuppa. I hope to one day eat here again because it was as by far the best meal we have had on our two week journey.

Superb dinner with friends. Not only was the food excellent, the service was warm & friendly. Shout out to Ruby & our lovely waitress! We had the bread and butter (delicious butter btw), mussels, pork chop & risotto. All meals were outstanding. Dine in the snug room for a special event like a birthday celebration. Would easily return with a larger group.

The first taste of the food was out of this world. I cannot describe how delicious and rich in flavours it was. At lunch time the restaurant is *packed* so either make a reservation or come a bit earlier. I don’t like being rushed with the bill without asking for it, but there was a queue of people in front of the restaurant and we had understanding. This might be the best food I’ve tried in months of living in Galway!

Delicious homemade food, and very friendly service with an inventive menu. I recommend the lamb moussaka and the banana loaf.

5 stars, excellent service and food

This was by far the most memorable food experience we had in Ireland. The waitstaff were so accommodating of our party, and just incredibly affable. The food was BEAUTIFUL, both in presentation and in execution on the flavors. To top it off, my wife procured their cookbook, and the staff were gracious enough to sign her copy! Such lovely people, and sumptuous food. 11/10, would recommend.

We wanted to end our month long UK holiday, with a special meal and boy, did we choose well. Nestled in a beautiful character building, close to the Spanish Arch Ard Bia was a wonderful dining experience. We booked for dinner and were shown to our table upstairs. The ambiance was relaxed and romantic. All our dishes (predominately fish) were so tasty, it was a pity to finish them. The bisque with one of them, was "slurp-worthy". My dessert (lemon tart), could have had a dollop of lemon curd, for those of us , who like a good hit of lemon. Overall, food, service and ambiance - were top notch.

Staff were absolutely amazing, building, atmosphere and drinks brilliant. Rated 3 because the food was just okay. Mussels, cod and monkfish were fairly standard, didn’t taste worthy of €30+. Steak was fantastic however and still had a lovely evening just would have hoped for slightly nicer food when bill was 300+
