Dropped in for a drink in a Friday afternoon, very friendly, great service. Dog friendly in the bar when we visited! Food menu looks nice also.

We hosted a party for 170 friends in “The Arts Club”at Ashtons last weekend. We had the best experience we possibly could have had. Everything was so well managed and executed, the room lends itself to a gathering of that size. The food was great, we had chosen some cocktails that were delicious and also had a full bar that was fully staffed so there was no waiting for drinks . All the staff were extremely pleasant, helpful and professional.

One of the nicest breakfasts I’ve had in a long time. Lovely staff too. Looking forward to coming for a pint next time. 😁

Love the new decor since they reopened recently, particularly Tom's Bar (big shout out to David, massive credit to the place, service review would be 2-star otherwise!) and the downstairs bar and outside seating area. Unfortunately, as of right now, that's all the positives. On my recent visit I found the downstairs staff to be very subpar - while I was quickly asked if I'd like a drink, after 10 minutes of waiting, I decided to go to the bar myself, only to be charged €15(!!) for a glass of wine! When ordering a glass of wine, it's typical to either be offered a wine list or ask what region you'd like etc...not just serve the most expensive! It also, took forever to get a glass of water which, again, I had to get from the bar after ordering twice at the table...all would be easier to forgive if it was busy, but it was very quiet. I also think the menu leaves a bit to be desired. When I first read the menu, I thought it was hand-written - nope, that's the font. The coaster menus are a great idea - short, neat and clear. Of course, that is very subjective, perhaps everyone likes the main menu. Also worth mentioning, I didn't eat, so can't say anything about the food. As of right now, I'd easily recommend Tom's Bar for a pint, but not the downstairs area. Should things change down there, so will this review...here's hoping! Edit: have since been back and, happy to say, pretty much all of the issues I'd expressed above have been addressed. Would now very much recommend it for a visit, at least Tom's Bar, as I haven't tried the restaurant part. Thank you all for a lovely day yesterday!

We had a lovely family meal tonight with our 3 children. The only thing I would say is, the main course is solely the protein stated and very little beside. We were charged €3 extra for a tiny pot of chimichurri even though I asked for extra sauce with the fish. With the side salad that’s a total of €48 for a good but not spectacular piece of monkfish. The chef had posted a better version on Instagram with generous beurre blanc which is frustrating as it drew us in. Drinks were lovely, had a Cosmo and expresso martini for desert which I really enjoyed.

Well well well!!! Took a drive to Ashtons on a Saturday evening booked a table on open table got it no problem! I’ll try keep this short and sweet! Elaine was our hostess/server and she’s class all the time in the world for People and Great at explaining the menus and also for a tour or the place lol (it’s surprisingly big) Christy Browne art etc! The Steak is “unreal” 30oz Cote de Boeuf for two is up with the best in Ireland if not the best! I’ll wager anyone on that! I’ve travelled the world ate steak every where and I’ll put this up there with the very best!! as for the Connemara oysters wow!! You’ll see the steaks aged in the glass fridge and see it cooked in the open kitchen the chefs are great craic too! This place is tops all I can say is FX Buckley move over!!! Just check this place out! Bar was packed with a great vibe it’s all good in Ashtons. I’ll be back and back again thanks gang!!

Went in on a Sunday evening-walk in and got a drink in the bar before! Ordered the sharing steak medium rare and it came out cooked perfectly. Got mash potato and fries on the side, both were delicious and plenty enough food for two! Great value and great quality-already planning a visit back!

19/11/2025: Found this pub really great. Superb staff and staff apart from one member of staff. A younger blonde woman who was quite unhappy and rude a couple of times while serving me. Overall well worth a visit
