A stellar find off the beaten path in Dublin. Go for the atmosphere (a charming bar attached to a high quality restaurant), stay for the incredible food - chicken liver mousse, scallops, great cuts of Irish meats (pork chops, beef), fabulous creamed leeks, mashed potatoes, roast vegetables. Get a sticky toffee pudding.

We held our Christmas party here this year and overall it was very well done. The food was good, with plenty to go around, and the service was attentive. However, I did find the wine service a little too persistent, I had to decline refills several times, which felt somewhat pushy. That said, it was an enjoyable experience overall, and I would definitely return.

Had the roast here recently, it was just delicious. Very baby friendly too, they have lovely high chairs and totally accommodating. Love what they've done with the place much nicer than before.

We were a group of 14 dining on a busy night on the run up to Christmas. Gerry and the staff were great and the food was simply brillant, great produce, perfectly cooked and presented. Would highly recommend Ashtons.

I came here with a large group for the first time last Thursday. It has a cozy vibe, but it can be real cramped at places. However, there was sufficient space outside. Pints were fine. Staff friendly. I didn't try the food but the restaurant areas were full. My only issue is it'd be nice if there were male toilets closer to the bar area.

13/11/2025: Great spot for sports and events, nice smoking area and really nice staff. Pool tables, darts quizzes and not over priced. Really nice staff and very friendly manager. Would recommend.
23/10/2025: Great for a night out or to watch a match. But food quality needs to be brought to a higher standard for such a great premises.

08/11/2025: This is a lovely cafe for brunch. The menu is nice and the cafe does have gluten free bread so if you're a coeliac or just gluten intolerant they will have options for you. The service was good and the server was knowledgeable when I asked about gluten free options. Some cushions for the back of the long bench seats inside would be a great idea as they are very uncomfortable to sit on for any length of time, but otherwise a very nice place to have coffee or brunch etc.
06/11/2025: Haven't been here for a while. Not quite the place I remembered. Less artisan and more pedestrian. The coffee was watery and weak. The pastries looked like they had been picked up in the local petrol station. There was nothing unique about the visit that would encourage me back. Pity because I love the concept of a little gem of an eatery nestled into a beautiful urban setting. Not the case here.
