A lot of the rooms are in need of a refresh. It's clean though and the staff are very good. The food though is only average and being a bit outside athlone it's the only place you can actually eat unless you want to drive in.

Very kind and helpful team, the gentleman darren was particularly helpful with everything, would definitely recommend.

hotel is clean and tidy, beautiful location shop only around the corner leisure centre also very good to relax and enjoy a swim, james the manager is also well spoken and looked after us the whole time while there making shore everything was perfect

We stayed at this hotel as a group of 22 women attending a yoga retreat. Unfortunately, despite the hotel’s potential, our overall experience was quite mixed. The positives: First of all, we would really like to praise the restaurant’s kitchen. The food was absolutely delicious — well-prepared, flavorful, and beautifully presented. Compliments to the chef, as this was truly one of the highlights of our stay. The negatives: The hotel itself was very cold and poorly heated. We were constantly freezing, both in the common areas and in our rooms. This made it difficult to relax and enjoy our retreat. The restaurant service was especially disappointing. The manager did not seem to have the necessary leadership or organizational skills. The atmosphere felt chaotic — staff, including the manager, were constantly rushing around, creating stress rather than providing service. At the same time, our group was often left unattended for long periods, both at lunch and, even worse, at dinner. It felt as though we were being avoided or simply not managed properly as a group. At lunch, we were not given proper cutlery for chicken wings and had to ask several times before anything was brought to us. Although this is advertised as a 4-star spa hotel, there were no bathrobes in the rooms. We had to repeatedly ask staff to provide them. We also had difficulties when it came to payment. The hotel was unable to split the bill so that each guest could pay individually, which created unnecessary inconvenience for a large group. Overall, the staff appeared inexperienced and overwhelmed, often unsure of how to handle the situation. The spa area was also underwhelming. The pool and saunas are quite small, and because of the number of guests, it felt crowded and not particularly relaxing. Conclusion: While the food quality was excellent, the hotel has serious issues with heating, organization, and group service. For a hotel presenting itself as a 4-star spa destination, our expectations were much higher.

Christmas Party Night in the Athlone Springs Hotel was absolutely fantastic. From the minute we walked in the door we were looked after. We were greeted by 2 young men with big smiles who offered us complimentary drinks and were very helpful explaining what the different drinks were. We sat down for dinner , which was beautiful. The beef was melt in your mouth divine and the special recipe ice cream was to die for. There was a few games in between courses which I have to say the star of the show was Darren . He kept everyone entertained and was such a super host, i never laughed as much. The interaction with all the people was amazing. The music was brilliant, a great selection to suit all ages. Well done to everyone on the night, including waiters, waitresses, bar staff and management. Great night
