Bacchus Restaurant in Athlone

Had a Family dinner on 25th of January 2025, I can easily say one of best food we had in a long time!!! Great service, very friendly staff. Great work 👏 👍

Good food at reasonable price. Service good. I visited on a Thursday night in January when the restaurant wasn't very busy. There was a full choice available and service was prompt and attentive. Aa the tourist season progresses this restaurant will be busier and the athmosphere will be improved. A starter, two main courses plus coffee and drinks for a couple came to €80 incl tip.

What a great experience! Ordered the poach pear and goat cheese starter, AMAZING! I could have been done there, it was a perfect t blend of savory, sweet and creamy, greens for a bitter touch. I asked for the main recommendation, my server suggested the risotto seafood dish, delicious! Great suggestion and then continued with the Baklava for dessert. It was such a welcome pleasure in a beautiful atmosphere and table by the river.

To be completely honest with you and I'm sure most people will say the same too bacchus is an absoulute phenomenon of a restraunt , the food is absoulutely mind blowing with a wide range of hot food and also a huge selection of desserts great location too don't even get me started on the service umit , a co owner is the kindest man you will ever meet and was so obliging to me and my family I couldn't possibly recommend bacchus enough great restraunt !

The T-bone steak here is absolutely phenomenal—perfectly cooked, juicy, and packed with flavor. The service was equally impressive, with the staff being attentive and genuinely pleasant. A top-notch dining experience from start to finish. Highly recommend!

Popped in on a Monday evening. Greeted and seated very efficiently. We wanted to try everything. We settled for a selection of starters. We were not disappointed. Poached pear and goats cheese, prawn and calamari, mixed meze and Turkish sausage. All unbelievably tasty. Staff friendly and helpful. Can't wait to return and try some more! 5+stars.

We just ate here on a whim and all of us agreed it was fabulous. Most of us had the Turkish pizza - we all loved it so much we plan to go back tomorrow because the menu is HUGE. Portions are also huge - no starters and we still didn’t make it to dessert

Restaurant is lovely and clean with an amazing view across the river Shannon. Staff are all professional efficient and frendly. The food was very fresh,tasty and delicious. Prawn and calamari to start(similar to a stew),pear and goats cheese to start. Mezze platter starter for two as main course. Lemon meringue pie with icecream to share and delicious house red 🍷. Will definitely be back soon . Keep up the great work
