Bacchus Restaurant in Athlone

We were here for a 70th birthday and had 2 small children and an infant. Everyone was extremely accommodating and so friendly. The food was outstanding. Highly recommended.

T bone steak is done to perfection they use to do a chilli sauce with what made it every time I came here but they stopped doing it what a awful pity cause that what made the drive worth it but food and service is amazing

Bacchus is so good that was our first reaction when we tasted our starters. Mezze platter for one is massive with loads of garlic bread. The poached pear salad was delicious. Seafood platter and sucuk cheese pide were fantastic. Absolutely delicious, great atmosphere, place was buzzing. Only point to note and it is not a negative at all but the portions are very generous.

Everything was perfect up till desert.had the traditional Turkish desert dish and found it a bit too sweet.

We went for dinner over Christmas to Bacchus as we were staying in a hotel near by. Everything about the experience was top class. The table with the river views, the décor and the lovely warm welcome we got from the staff. We also had the early bird menu though it was just after 19.00.The food was beautiful, different and very tasty and great value for money with a three course early bird menu for €34.50. Also a bottle of new Zealand Sauvignon Blanc for under €30 is great value. We cannot wait to go back! This restaurant deserves all the business it gets and more. Highly recommend, you wont be disappointed

Lovely restaurant, good atmosphere! Had a carbonara and penne vodka, both very good ! Highlight is the poached pear dessert , excellent! Friendly staff and great service !
