Bacchus Restaurant in Athlone

We went for dinner over Christmas to Bacchus as we were staying in a hotel near by. Everything about the experience was top class. The table with the river views, the décor and the lovely warm welcome we got from the staff. We also had the early bird menu though it was just after 19.00.The food was beautiful, different and very tasty and great value for money with a three course early bird menu for €34.50. Also a bottle of new Zealand Sauvignon Blanc for under €30 is great value. We cannot wait to go back! This restaurant deserves all the business it gets and more. Highly recommend, you wont be disappointed

Lovely restaurant, good atmosphere! Had a carbonara and penne vodka, both very good ! Highlight is the poached pear dessert , excellent! Friendly staff and great service !

Beautiful restaurant with a great selection of dishes on their menu. Warm and cosy atmosphere and the staff are very friendly and professional. I would highly recommend to anyone looking for a nice restaurant in Athlone.

Bacchus has a nice atmosphere and good food overall. The pizza was excellent — full of flavour and perfectly cooked. The pasta carbonara wasn’t my favourite, so I wouldn’t recommend that dish, but everything else was enjoyable. Worth a visit, especially for the pizza!

Bacchus is a wonderful restaurant in Athlone. The food is exceptional, the atmosphere is warm and welcoming, and the service is excellent. The view of the River Shannon adds a special charm to the place. Highly recommended. I’ll definitely be back.

Food, service, atmosphere - everything was top class. Beautiful views of Shannon, warm and cosy inside, very friendly staff. I had seafood medley and my partner had a steak. Both soooo yummy and generous portions too. They have a few tables on the terrace too, with a 5* view. Highly recommend and will be back 👌

We had such a lovely evening enjoying a yummy dinner with the family. The food was absolutely delicious, freshly prepared, and full of flavour. The atmosphere was welcoming and made it perfect for spending quality time together. Every dish was beautifully presented and served with care. It was a wonderful experience from start to finish – highly recommend for anyone looking for a great meal with loved ones!

Absolute delight of a restaurant. Friendly staff, speedy service, and EXCELLENT food. A must visit.
