My mother and I treated ourselves to two nights here as we'd visited before and it looked fab. Although the dinner in the restaurant was lovely and the staff were pleasant, our room was another story. Multiple times through email and over the phone we requested twin beds but found of course just a double bed when we arrived. Not a huge problem and it was rectified fairly quickly. But the room itself was very basic and lacking in niceties. No tv (not a problem for me) but to my news addicted mother it was a letdown. Even with the radiator turned off and both windows open at night it was uncomfortably hot and stuffy to sleep in. No tea/coffee making facilities, the radio/sound box thing was broken. On the last morning we found that there was no toilet roll or shower gel left. Luxury hotel? far from it.

We had the most gorgeous meals here. The service is 5star and they are so accommodating for allergies, with a cheese allergy they did a whole separate course for us instead of the cheese course so we wouldn't be left out.
The food so top quality and everything on the plate is there for a reason, simply delicious!!!
Also the wine sommelier on hand to guide you is such a beautiful touch.

My friends and I stayed at Ballymaloe House for a yoga retreat. We had a fabulous time and absolutely loved it! They served cake every day at 3pm, meals were farm to table and wonderful! They had craft made cocktails that were to die for. They even gave me the recipe for the Fig Sour drink they make with fresh figs. By the end of the retreat they had to make about 20 Fig Sours because we were all drinking them!
I had a delightful room, and I think I perused the goods at the store every single day. The people at Ballymaloe House KNOW hospitality! I raise my Fig Sour to you!

An exceptional experience again at Ballymaloe House. We try as a family to make it to Ballymaloe every few years and the new plan is to make this an annual event. The food is the embodiment of farm/sea to fork using the freshest of ingredients sourced locally combined with age old Irish cooking and hospitality traditions If your timing is right you can also take tours - I did a rewilding tour with Tobias on the grounds exploring natural habitats which has inspired me to rewild my own garden - following the We Are The Ark principles. The shop is great, I was able to source some great books, baking tins and a Christmas pudding. Factor in time to visit the cookery school which is a mile or so down the road, it has a great shop with coffees and the garden tour is a must do. Pick up a jar or two of Ballymaloe cookery school Raspberry jam when you’re there. You can also take a trip to Ballycotton or Shanagarry beach, pictured below.

We did not stay at the hotel, however, it looks very beautiful and cozy inside. We came to the hotel for their 5 course dinner - everything was delicious. From the vegetable broth, scallops, main course which I had the lamb and my husband the black sole fish and then of course the lovely dessert table. Service was great and attentive. The wines are exquisite. We will definitely back again

Cannot say enough good things about the team at Ballymaloe. They go out of their way to make sure guests have everything they need. The best example was helping us make an emergency dental appointment for my wife.
While walking the grounds we got turned around. There was an employee mowing the grass. He stopped, turned off the mower and asked where we were trying to go then provided directions with a smile.
Dinner is fantastic both food and service. Best hazelnut nut ice cream and also apple cider.
