We had a wonderful stay at Ballyseede, we stayed in the lodge which is a seperate building close to the entrance, lots of parking available. Quiet and calm surroundings, friendly Irish wolfhounds in the grounds to welcome you and be fussed over. The staff were friendly and attentive, we enjoyed a delicious 3 course meal in the restaurant, the breakfast was also excellent. Would definitely stay again and highly recommend this location.

Magical castle with a beautiful garden, tasty food in the restaurant. It is fun to just walk around and explore. The castle rooms are large with a big bed and beautiful views of the grounds outside the windows.

I genuinely developed imposter syndrome walking up the red carpet into this castle when we arrived, convinced we were about to be kicked out for gate crashing. We couldn't possibly be welcome in such a fine establishment and everyone was going to wonder how the riff-raff got in. But, as soon as we were greeted by the girl on reception (along with 2 fuzzy resident dogs!) with zero pretentiousness, just a warm happy welcome, the anxiety disappeared and I quickly decided I LOVED this place!
The staff were wonderful throughout and the condition and decor of the hotel are immaculate. It feels like you've walked into a home with layers upon layers of history surrounding you. The food was gorgeous, and I could dedicate a whole review for the grounds alone.
Our room was a superior castle room and the bathroom was like being in a tranquil spa with mood lighting. The bed and pillows were the comfiest we've ever had in any hotel and we slept soundly.
Highlights of our stay included the Irish wolfhound lounging on a chaise outside the bedrooms kindly allowing us to take pictures, and the fact we stayed in the West Wing which made me feel like Belle. My inner Disney princess was screaming!
Highly recommend visiting this hotel and can't wait to go back again for a longer stay next time!

We regrettably only spent one night at Ballyseede Castle, but we would jump at the chance to return. It was easily the best hotel we experienced outside of Dublin (the ones in Dublin were over 2x the cost!), and it was exceedingly memorable.
Everything about it was fantastic -- the property, the dogs, the room, the restaurant, the staff. The only negative, depending on your perspective, is that it's in the middle of nowhere to an extent. So, if you want something close to town, Ballyseede is not the place. However, it's also NOT IN TOWN. It's quiet, bucolic, and beautiful.
The dogs were a tremendous highlight as they are friendly, quirky, and welcoming. We're dog people and thoroughly enjoyed meeting them and rubbing a belly or two.
The room itself was massive and well appointed in every respect. The bathroom was very large, and the walk-in shower could fit a small group of people.
We had dinner at the bar, and the food and atmosphere was very pleasant. We had traveled most of the day from Galway, so it was nice to sit back, relax with a beer, and enjoy the ambiance. We also had breakfast the next morning, and it was truly one of the best breakfasts we had on our nearly two week trip throughout central and southern Ireland. Definitely a highlight.
As I mentioned, we only stayed the one night, and we immediately regretted that planning on our departure. We would love to go back and explore more of the surrounding countryside and definitely say hello to the canine staff once again!
