Unfortunately, the staff weren't very motivated in the afternoon and seemed a bit overwhelmed. There are definitely better pubs in Dublin.

We chose this place to try fish and chips. We liked the atmosphere and the food. The waiter was attentive and polite. Keep in mind the 10% table service charge, although it's already indicated on the menu. Wide variety of beers; we'll be back.

Recently we attended Bar Rua on 2 occasions: a work event and a private party, both with a group of 10 or so. The atmosphere is very nice and the location is excellent. We especially like the high tables in the place. The staff is very pleasant, and polite. Gabriela, the manager goes the extra mile and assures you are looked after, an is very helpful with special requests.

Today I went to Bar Rua to watch the NFL game, and I loved it. Bernardo was there the whole time, attentive to our needs and making us feel comfortable. Lisandra was our waitress, super friendly and lovely, she gave us great recommendations. Excellent service and atmosphere, definitely a great place to hang out with friends.

Old Punch Bowl

19/04/2025: So I'm a big fan of this pub, has always been great, a really nice pint. But went in tonight, €7.10 for a pint of Guinness? Utter rip off. This is why no one can afford to go out anymore.
30/03/2025: What makes this place standout is the warm welcome and hospitality of the owners, a husband and wife team. Simply put, they are that couple who’ve been married 30+ years, who care about their business and they care that diners have a memorable visit well worth the reasonable cost. We were on a Trafalgar tour and had a great meal with desserts, coffees, and choice of cocktails. The servings were huge and I loved the berry cobbler!
