Barr an Chaladh in Galway

The main man rolled a barrel in front of the fire and pulled a stool up so I could watch the match, cracking pub with tasty pints

Barr an Chaladh has that real Galway pub feel — packed with great music, friendly people, and just the right bit of chaos. They have live music every night. The pints were just 5 € (mon-thurs), the staff super friendly and quick, and the whole place buzzing with energy. We popped in “for one” and ended up staying the whole night. If you’re in Galway, don’t overthink it — just go here. Perfect spot for young people. Bring cash - cash only place.

A great bar. The drinks are good and inexpensive, especially with the student discount. The staff there are very courteous and friendly. You immediately feel very welcome. What's particularly good is the daily live music and the cozy atmosphere. I highly recommend going there if you want to go for a drink in Galway. The only drawback is that you can only pay in cash, but there is also an ATM in the shop.

Great environment, it’s nice to see elders and young people in the same place sharing the music and the atmosphere. We enjoyed to be there and had the chance to be in a traditional Irish pub.

Walking into this Barr was like walking into a warm family gathering. The staff were very knowledgeable in the recommendations for drinks based on what flavors we like. There was a "trad seisiún" when we visited. That was beautiful. The signs and decor completed the cosy friendly feel.

Una tarde por la noche, mientras íbamos a tomar un kebab, mi familia y yo nos topamos con Barr y Chaladh. El propietario, Michael, nos recibió cálidamente. Esperábamos la típica comida irlandesa, pero nos sorprendió mucho cuando Michael ofreció un menú de almuerzo inspirado en Asia, perfecto, ya que estaba ansioso por las gambas! Los precios eran increíblemente razonables, y las porciones eran enormes. ¿Pero la mejor parte? La comida era deliciosa! El ambiente era animado, gracias a la música en vivo, y la hospitalidad de Michael nos hizo sentir increíblemente bienvenidos. Lo disfrutamos tanto, que volvimos unas semanas después! Michael, eres un verdadero caballero, y recomendamos Barr y Chaladh a cualquiera que busque una comida fantástica y un ambiente cálido y acogedor. Bien hecho!
