A lovely family run restaurant hidden in the country side with the charms of a nice view on the coast and flowery garden to enjoy. The food is absolutely delicious and made with care. Take a small side road from the N67 and you will not be sorry. Irish hospitality at its best.

There wasn't a huge amount of fish on the (small) menu. Only one seafood starter and two seafood mains (40e for a main fish dish). Maybe the fishing catch wasn't good that day but I was disappointed. They call themselves a "Seafood Restaurant" so I expected an array of seafood options. The location is gorgeous and the food was good (don't bother with the chips - soggy), but was this worth a "special meal" of over 100e for main courses *only* and no wine... no, in my opinion.

A wonderful find at the end of a tiny bendy road. Highly recommend this restaurant for its delicious food. We had the surprise menu 2 meat and 2 fish. The surprise food was delightful. We couldn't find fault with any of the dishes and the staff were lovely and friendly.

A family birthday of 10 people. 3 of us went for the Surprise menu, 1 meat, 1 fish and 1 vegetarian. Absolutely excellent. A la Carte also excellent. Staff so friendly. Looking forward to going back.

Everything was so special. Cannot compare it to anything else I’ve experienced when dining out. An absolute gem of a place with such a lovely warm inviting atmosphere. Can’t wait to go back!

11/07/2025: Lovely place. I had coffee a scone and a coffee cake. It was impeccable. Highly recommend for breakfast or for lunch. Later that day I tried the chicken soup. Also a must. Tea was good.
12/06/2025: Homemade to perfection! Loved checking out this spot while visiting the islands! Everything we tried exceeded our expectations!

Motte & Bailey Restaurant

13/06/2025: Have to give credit to this restaurant. We were a group celebrating a 90th birthday and could not fault any aspect of our visit. The food was delicious, really great menu that caters for everyone, staff were fantastic, could not do enough for us and a really good atmosphere. We have eaten here many times and it always lives up to our high expectations.Well worth a visit. We will be back. Thank you Michelle and staff for a great night and for helping us creat many great memories for our family.
16/02/2025: Went here on a Saturday evening, it was very busy. We were close to a table with 6/8. They were all talking very loud and I could hardly hear my companion. Having said that I would definitely return. It's Family run and so friendly, we were very well looked after. The food was lovely and tasty. My steak was perfect, the best ever. Highly recommend the Motte and Bailey.
