Beans And Leaves in Athlone

I was in the restaurant at the weekend. Some bright spark has introduced the most un customer friendly QR code scan system to order your food. Its clumsy, overly complicated and spoiled the whole visit. If you want to go cashless I don't have a problem, give the waitress a smart pad and let her do her thing. The old lady on the table beside us was too polite to just get up and leave she just sat there staring at the QR code and the phone.Well done on messing up a great little cafe. I will never be going back. Never. NEVER.

Wish I could give this place 10 stars for all categories. Food is excellent. Enjoyed pancakes, scones and chai tea served by the most friendly staff ever. Will return tomorrow.

Go nearly every weekend with herself, easily best breakfast in Athlone. The waffles with maple syrup and ice cream are the best waffles I've ever had. The staff are always very friendly and polite and the variety of the menu is excellent. 11/10.

This was a lovely breakfast and came with two pieces of toast with vegan butter. I enjoyed everything, but didn’t eat the guac. I wasn’t sure what it was for. The falafels weren’t dry, and the chili was tasty. The hot tea that came with it was also good. They are unable to serve tap water due to construction near the restaurant which also seemed to block some of the view. The team was very kind and courteous about the inconvenience.

New ordering system which is via your phone or a kiosk, feels like you are getting food from an American fastfood place.

Besides having a fantastic location and wonderfull selection of various breakfasts this place has the BEST scones I ever tried in Ireland during my 6 years living here. A true masterpiece of pastry. A big thanks to the team for my fantastic mornings at your place!!!!

Hidden gem in Athlone! We moved to Athlone with our dog recently and have passed this place many times but decided to call in one day for lunch. We couldn’t be happier that we did and haven’t been table to stay away from the place since. The service is unmatched, 10/10 Owners are lovely and this place is very very dog friendly 🐕 We will be back weekly - definitely one of the best if not the best cafe in Athlone
