Belleek Castle in

Went for afternoon tea, served by the lovely Rachel from Portugal, her knowledge of the Castle was superb, she showed me around some of the many function rooms, had wine by the fire in one of the many bars.. if you love oldie worldie steeped in history and a Castle that feels like your on a very old ship you'll be in the right place. Will return and try Jack Fenn bistro attached to the Castle.

Stayed at Belleek castle for my birthday. Love the outside and gothic vibe of the castle including all of the woodwork features. But I do think it needs some more upkeep to function as a hotel and not just a museum. I was told in an email they would leave a dessert plate for me in the room but there was none there upon arrival, also the windows were left open letting in flys. The bay window had mould which instantly triggered my allergies didn’t make for the best stay. The vanity area is in a dark corner with no chair and had a coffee machine and fan on it so no where for me to do my makeup and get ready as the sink in the bathroom was tiny. Our room was front facing so anyone coming in the entrance could see up when parking, we booked a garden view room but got a front view room only the bathroom had a partial garden view, very misleading.. The shower was disgusting very dirty and looked old it really should be replaced it was either really hot or cold. I loved the bed the detailing is gorgeous but the mattress dipped down and felt like it was from 2003. We didn’t have a good sleep in the bed. Breakfast in the cafe was really good great portion size and bar area stunning too, no cocktail menu but the worker did offer to make any cocktail we wanted. Overall the hotel needs more personal touches, no slippers or welcome card either.

Everything is except the dinner was fantastic. Main course was absolutely tiny and outrageously expensive. €35 for main course. Absolutely scandalous. We had stayed in bellick castle about 10 years ago and this wasn't the case back then. We've also stayed in many castle hotels all over Ireland and you get a decent size dinner for a good price.

Amazing place, beautiful and very unique. Each room has something amazing from shark jaws to armour, dripping with history. Staff weren't amazing. Friendly and efficient service
