This place is the best pub in town. Think Cheers, but in Ireland. The bartender and locals were super friendly, telling jokes and giving local recommendations. We spent a lot of time here and plan to go back later tonight after dinner. Would HIGHLY recommend coming here for a pint or chocolate espresso martini.

We had the best craic in there with the bar staff, Shannon and bar man Chris on the 16th of July 2025. We were made welcome for the minute we walked in and the other Customers were very friendly. Best of luck Shannon on your travels and we look forward to hearing all about them on our return. Because we will definitely return. Thanks for making our stay in Athlone so remembelabe, From Anne and Tom Prince Kilkenny.

Best pub in Ireland. Stopped in and felt welcomed by the bartender and locals. Ordered a toastie to go, Wow! Best sandwich we ever had. This place is a hidden gem. Highly recommend.

18/10/2025: Lovely food, tasty, fresh and top quality service. Very fast for such quality food. Exceptionally friendly staff , every staff member from opening the front door said Hello, we sat upstairs, nice bright room again, very friendly staff upstairs, when we were going all said goodbye and thanked us for coming. When we had started to eat- within a few minutes, we were asked if everything was alright, we were happy with the food and did we want anything else. Obviously the owner/manager/staff put a-lot of effort in. (Not that fussed on the QR ordering-the food and friendliness make up for this but it’s just something I personally don’t like in a restaurant)
04/10/2025: Brown bread superb, soup and sausage rolls were excellent. Service was superb also
