Biddy O'Dowd's in Athlone

This place is the best pub in town. Think Cheers, but in Ireland. The bartender and locals were super friendly, telling jokes and giving local recommendations. We spent a lot of time here and plan to go back later tonight after dinner. Would HIGHLY recommend coming here for a pint or chocolate espresso martini.

We had the best craic in there with the bar staff, Shannon and bar man Chris on the 16th of July 2025. We were made welcome for the minute we walked in and the other Customers were very friendly. Best of luck Shannon on your travels and we look forward to hearing all about them on our return. Because we will definitely return.
