Bistro Bianconi in Sligo

We had a delicious dinner tonight at Bistro Bianconi....not only was the food amazing, but they also made a fantastic dry martini! Best of all was our superb server Andrew! He knew we were from the US and took the time to tell us all about Sligo and went out of his way to get answers for us for all of our tourist questions. It was our favorite dining experience in Sligo!

Bistro Bianconi has been serving people in Sligo for 30+years and it is as popular as ever. The owner Pat Grimes is very 'hands on' and it shows in the quality of the food and in the service provided.

The food was delicious. I had pasta carbonara and my daughter had bolognese. Both tasted great. The slice of pizza I had to try didn't suit my taste. The service was attentive and super friendly. The background noise was very loud, but we still had a nice seat, bright and friendly. The prices were a bit too expensive for me, but that seems to be normal for Sligo. Here, for example, a glass of white wine costs €7.25.

Although we couldn't dine seated (all restaurants close the kitchen at 9:00 p.m.), we ate some slices of takeaway pizza that the restaurant sold directly, which was delicious and saved our dinner, which is almost the end of the day.

Very nice restaurant with rather unusual pizzas - at least for us Germans. You can find a Pizza Regina here for free and that's a good thing. I recommend the vegetarian one.
