Great night here, as always. Smooth front of house with Elaine, Mark and team, backed up by solid fare from Alan and the kitchen team. Great atmosphere - all around pleasurable night.

What more can one say. Everything perfect from start to finish. Invited to lunch by my daughter Susan Jarlath and family last Sunday afternoon. We were returning from Connemara after a 3.5 hr. drive so the break from driving was very welcome indeed. Onwards to Gorey afterwards after another fab. luncheon in " Brighton Road " restaurant, formerly Bistro 1, but still under the same very welcoming owner and management. Wish this dining establishment was closer to home. 😉

Cosy restaurant accessed by a small door leading to a very steep staircase. Room is bigger than expected with enough angles where if you got the right table, you can have a nice, discreet meal. Ambience good, staff are very pleasant, but food choices limited probably down to size of kitchen. My wife was happy with her choices, I found the Wok special a bit cloying. For me, I found the seats to be uncomfortable and the table on the smaller side of ideal. Also found the wine list to be limited and expensive. If I'm paying €60+ for a French Chardonnay I expect it to have some depth and flavour, it had neither. I also am not a fan of super sized portions. Less is definitely more and if that reduces the prices and speeds up the turnaround, then I'd be inclined to order a starter or dessert. TL;DR It's fine, but expensive and uncomfortable for any long duration. Wine list needs work and expertise.

28/05/2024: Loved everything about this place on our final night in Dublin. The early evening menu is decent value and they have vegetarian dishes that are of a very high standard. My wife and I enjoyed all 3 courses and the creme brulee was the perfect end to the evening. If and when we return to Dublin, this works be top of my list of places to return to. Lovely pint of Guinness too.
19/05/2024: Just learned this brilliant place is closing /closed. What a shame. Had a fantastic meal here last year with my son and the staff were so lovely. Wishing you all success in the future.
