After a day driving the Ring of Kerry, we had a wonderful lunch at the Boathouse right on the bay. We live in the northeast of the US and have plentiful good seafood and chowder, however the Boathouse chowder is one of the best we’ve ever had. Just absolutely delicious.
If you have a chance to stop by don’t miss this little gem!!
Do not miss the Boathouse Bistro if you are in the Kenmare area, even in Killarney! It is a superb restaurant. The chef is a wizard! We shared porcini arancini, The potted crab and the shrimp pil pil for starters. Each was wonderful, but the potted crab should not be missed. The seafood chowder is the best ever, and I grew up in New England. It’s really a stew, it’s so full of fresh fish and seafood. Entrées we chose included halibut, lamb, spicy, roasted cauliflower, and scallops. Everyone was so pleased with their choices. unfortunately, we had no room left for desserts, which sounded quite wonderful. I’m not sure what I could have done to enjoy the earlier courses less to have room for dessert. Probably nothing!
27/10/2024: The staff managed to find a table for us as a walk in and we are so glad they did. Service was fantastic, food was one of the best meals we’ve had for a long time - well worth the price. Would definitely eat here again!
27/10/2024: We had a lovely meal at no.35. We were sat downstairs which was a nice intimate vibe, staff were very friendly and attentive. The food was amazing, we had the prawn and spinach filo pastry and the haddock smokies for starters and the lamb Ragu and the wagyu burger for mains. We would highly recommend.
