15/01/2025: We had made a reservation at this lovely restaurant for our one night in Kenmare. We were seated on time upstairs , which was a quiet and cozy room with only a few tables. The wine selection was good and we had a wonderful meal, easily the best meal we had on our entire 10 days in Ireland. We started with the pear, pecan and blue cheese salad, a nice portion, easily split for two people with just the right amount of dressing. The Mancini balls with goat cheese were very tasty. Our meals were delicious , the hake with potatoes and leeks and the lamb ragu. All of it was outstanding.
However, the service was terrible. Our waitress, Emily, was impatient and rude. We asked a few questions as it was our first time dining here and wanted a few moments to look at the menu. She rolled her eyes at us the first time and the second time when she returned with our water when we had a question about the wine. When we asked if we were bothering her, she said no but proceeded to ignore our table the rest of the evening , notably chatting and serving other tables nearby. We are not difficult patrons and are very engaging and gracious to those that work hard in restaurants. We didn't let it ruin our meal. Her lack of service was reflected in her lack of tip and we did speak to the manager on the way out when he asked us how our meal was. I would return because of the outstanding food, but ask for a different server.

Neil, the head waiter, was incredibly knowledgeable and made excellent recommendations, enhancing the whole dining experience. The atmosphere was warm and inviting, creating the perfect setting for a relaxing evening. Highly recommend this place to anyone looking for great food and service!
