Bovine in Portlaoise

Excellent burgers, the staff were so friendly and we were served really quickly. There was nothing we could fault.

What an absolute gem of a place. We stopped into Bovine while visiting Portlaoise and it ended up being one of the best meals we've had in a long time. The burger was honestly one of the best I've had anywhere. Perfectly balanced, incredibly juicy, crispy where it needed to be, loaded with generous, smoky bacon, and full of flavour without relying on mountains of unnecessary lettuce or fillers. Every ingredient had its place and worked together perfectly. You can tell a lot of care goes into what comes out of that kitchen. We couldn't resist dessert afterwards and it was every bit as good. We left in the happiest food coma imaginable! The restaurant itself has gorgeous rustic character that feels completely authentic rather than trying too hard. Add to that brilliant music, a lovely atmosphere and genuinely friendly, welcoming staff, and the whole experience was just spot on from start to finish. We can't wait for our next trip to Portlaoise, and honestly, Bovine is reason enough to make the journey. Highly, highly recommend!

I've taken a few people here and every one of them has said it's the best burger they've ever had. The chorizo loaded fries and jammy one were delicious.

Amazing food and atmosphere. A perfect hidden gem

We ended up in Bovine on a Sunday evening when everywhere else in Portlaoise was absolutely packed and we couldn’t get a meal anywhere. They got us seated straight away, which already felt like a win. The only thing I wasn’t mad about is that the burgers don’t come with chips or even a small side salad, you have to order those separately. It also did feel a little bit cold inside. The burger itself was so tasty and juicy, genuinely one of the better ones I’ve had in a while. The chips were so nice with the salt & garlic butter. And the server was lovely, really chilled, not overly formal, just nice casual chats and good vibes all around. Overall, great spot when you want good food without the fuss 😀

Very good burgers, but very small, had to order 2 to feel full and I'm not a big eater

Food is class, was a small mishap with the order, but was called directly and sorted straight away!

Came in to pick up a delivery order and decided to stay for a drink, absolute gem of a spot. Got the royal treatment after requesting a martini, can't recommend enough
