Brasserie on the Corner in Galway

A wonderful meal and overall dining experience. After I screwed up the time of our reservation, the hostess was incredibly accommodating and not only got us seated immediately, but in the what I deemed to be the best corner/window in the restaurant. The food, drink, and service exceeded all expectations, but it was the green salad and delicious green vegetables that sets the Brasserie apart from what we've come to expect in Ireland. Root vegetables are great as a component of dinner, but are not a substitute for healthy, yummy greens. The lamb shoulder was amazing. Cannot recommend more highly!

Popped in solo and was able to get a table if I waited at the bar, highly recommend reservations. Service was great, wonderful people throughout the restaurant. I really enjoyed my salad and steak, although it was cooked slightly over so just keep that in mind. Still happy with my visit, I really enjoyed this meal!! Walkable from the main area of Galway, good location.

The place and service was nice, the food was very average at best. We had the salad, ribeye and sticky toffee pudding. The salad was ok, the steak was not good, this is the second steak I’ve had in Ireland and would recommend staying away from it. I’ve enjoyed the fish and chips, and the stews, but the steak is not prepared the way I am used to. The sticky toffee was like a spiced cake, this is my first sticky toffee, so maybe it’s supposed to be like that, but if it is I was wrong to order it. Think chilis but not as good.

We dined here on the last night of our week-long Irish vacation, and it turned out to be the absolute crown jewel of our trip from a culinary perspective. After a week of exploring Ireland’s sights and sampling various local spots, this place stood out. Despite having no reservation, we were seated immediately on a Monday evening — prime time — which was a bonus, especially considering we had two young kids in tow. The staff was incredibly welcoming and accommodating from the moment we walked in, which made the experience all the more enjoyable. Our server was exceptional — friendly, knowledgeable, and genuinely passionate about the menu. She took the time to answer our questions and offered fantastic recommendations. We decided to trust her completely and ordered everything she suggested, and we couldn’t have been happier with the outcome. The crab claws were fresh, succulent, and perfectly cooked — a real taste of the Atlantic. The lamb shoulder was rich, tender, and melt-in-your-mouth, easily one of the best lamb dishes we’ve ever had. The sea bass was beautifully prepared, with crispy skin and delicate, flaky flesh that paired wonderfully with the sides. Every bite confirmed we had made the right choice. The quality of the ingredients, the attention to detail, and the relaxed yet refined atmosphere made for a perfect final meal to cap off our Irish adventure. If you’re looking for a memorable dining experience that showcases the best of Ireland’s food scene, this is it. We left full, happy, and already dreaming of coming back.

Unfortunately, 2 of our mains(group of 4) were ribeye steak which was overcooked and just smelt gone off. That being said, the staff were great about it, brought two replacement mains near straight away and the rest of the food was great! Seeing all the other great reviews, was probably just a once off mistake.

Best seafood chowder in Ireland.

We had a wonderful experience here. The service was friendly and attentive, and the atmosphere was warm and inviting. The food was absolutely delicious, fresh, flavorful, and beautifully presented. A great spot for a relaxed and high quality meal.

Lovely atmosphere, good food and great service. We had the mussels, chicken sandwich and their chowder, all well- made!

I highly recommend the muscles. It's a huger serving and a great deal.
