Walked in for an early dinner at 5 pm and sat downstairs in the bar for their small plates menu. Food was exquisite, the oysters, ceviche, fried chicken, and seaweed butter were our favorites. Excellent experience, recommend reservations if you’d like to sit upstairs for their course menu.

We came here for our anniversary meal and had an amazing evening. The duck was a standout dish and one of the best meals I’ve ever had at a restaurant. The dumplings and rice pudding were also brilliant. Service was great and interior lovely also. Not to be missed if you are in Galway!

This was a lovely experience to have on my last night in Galway. Very warm ambiance and delicious food. I had the oysters, the salted cod on a cracker with fennel, and the Skeaghanore duck breast, all of which were amazing. I had the vanilla rice pudding with cherry sorbet for dessert, which was incredible. I should have taken photos of every course but I only snapped a photo of the dessert.

Rúibín was a great dining experience during my visit to Galway. I had the fried chicken with honey butter, pickles, and house fries. The food was excellent, full of flavor, and everything was prepared very well. The combination of the crispy chicken, honey butter, and pickles worked exceptionally well together. The service was attentive and professional throughout the evening. The atmosphere was lively and energetic. It was a bit louder than I personally prefer, but that’s more a matter of personal taste than a criticism of the restaurant. Overall, a very good restaurant with excellent food and solid service. I would definitely recommend it to anyone visiting Galway.

An upscale, very popular Irish crossover restaurant. Lunch there was a somewhat mixed experience: the Korean-style fried chicken with kimchi was absolutely fantastic, perfectly paired with IPAs (both alcoholic and non-alcoholic) from the excellent drinks menu. I've never had such good Korean food. However, the green beans in the smoked trout salad were practically raw and therefore barely edible. When I inquired, with some concern, whether this was really how it was supposed to be, the kitchen staff very politely replied: Yes, that's how it's supposed to be. That's fine; perhaps people in Galway have stronger stomachs, but seeing the only half-eaten dish, one could perhaps offer the disappointed guest a small gesture instead of politely ignoring it.

The Seafood Bar @ Kirwan's

22/05/2026: Excellent!!!!!! We had five separate dishes, three starters and drinks. Everything was spectacular and prepared to perfection. Wonderful! Thank you!
14/05/2026: As a welcome, we received warm service and genuine smiles, accompanied by a carafe of water with an orange slice, Guinness and whole-wheat bread with seeds, and salted butter. Then, our lunch began with a sweet Chardonnay to pair with a seafood platter, bursts of flavor that lingered on the palate. A small, crisp salad, perfectly balanced in flavor, capers with tender smoked salmon that delighted my taste buds, and truly delicious dried mackerel, all finished with a squeeze of lemon—I highly recommend it! Special mention for the Roche oyster; it's a shame there was only one. I was less impressed with the shrimp, which were blander than everything else. To finish, I savored a perfectly crisp crème brûlée (the inside was a little "cold," but I'm nitpicking) and a very good cappuccino. My stay got off to a wonderful start.

Aniar

27/04/2026: We loved our dining experience here. The creativity and intention behind every dish, decor, even down to the dish ware and cutlery - all highlighted regional Irish food and makers. Our server was amazing at giving us the lay of the land at the start of the meal. The chefs brought out each dish to explain in great detail what we were about to enjoy. A treat all around to experience this taste of Ireland and Irish culture. Best beet dish I have ever had. Venison tartare was absolutely stunning. Pork and fish main courses were top notch.
14/04/2026: Dined here on a recent trip to Galway. Rich. Very thoughtfully composed menu, backed up by excellent dishes and fresh ingredients. Incredibly creative and brave. The setting, room with dynamic display walls and lighting all added to the richness of this culinary experience. Courses were exhaustive and consistently excellent. Offerings could benefit from some edits and consolidation. Several sauces and reductions were complex, layered and polished. Moments of foam and froth complimented by texture kept my culinary senses on the edge of the seat. The dinnerware is gorgeous, an extension of Irish craft and culture. The wine pairing was also well worth it. Overall, a rich and wonderful experience that I will remember for a long time. Highly recommended.
