Ruibin in Galway

We were luck to get in without a reservation, and were we glad that we did. The food and service are superb. Ruibin is top notch.

great little find in Galway !! had the fried chicken, honey butter sauce, pickles, and sesame and my friend had the Seabass colima ceviche, carrot & blood orange, pumpkin seed salsa macha, tostada (no item names) and i’m fairly certain i had a mezcal margarita

We've eaten at Rúibín on many occasions and it is by far our favourite restaurant in Galway. We've been in for lunch a few times, dinner many times and, for the first time on Friday night, we went in just for a cocktail. Outstanding is an oft overused word but I have to say that this time it is just perfect. As were the drinks. They were so good I even rang the following day to ask exactly which whiskey was in my Old Fashioned. Incredibly the person I spoke to was the one who comes up with the cocktails there. Dennis explained to me exactly how the Dingle small batch whiskey is taken by him and infused with roasted celeriac for 72 hours (along with some other ingredients) before it is ready for his twist on this classic. My word it is astonishing. Go there and try it. If you're into awesome cocktails, great service, lovely people and, of course, incredible food, you will not be disappointed.

The restaurant is well-maintained and in a good location, offering a view of the harbor. The dishes are prepared with care and expertise, using fresh, high-quality ingredients. The warm welcome and attentive service are very pleasant. Highly recommended overall. Anyone who loves fish should definitely eat here.

Rúibín is hands down one of our favourite restaurants in Galway, and after so many visits, we're still waiting for the day it disappoints us. It hasn't happened yet! The food is consistently outstanding, with a menu that changes with the seasons, so there's always something new and exciting to try. The vegan and vegetarian options are especially impressive. They are inventive, beautifully presented, and every bit as memorable as the rest of the menu. The cocktails are some of the best in the city. If you're looking for recommendations, you can't go wrong with the Bee Keeper or the Sunburn. Both are exceptional and perfectly balanced. A huge part of what keeps us coming back is the team. Denis, the General Manager, runs the place with such professionalism while making everyone feel genuinely welcome. Paul behind the bar is an absolute master of his craft. His cocktails are consistently top class, and it's clear how much care and skill goes into every drink. From the service to the food and drinks, everything at Rúibín is first class. It's a rare place that manages to maintain such consistently high standards, and that's why we keep returning. We couldn't recommend it more highly.

I went on the off chance that there was space 'for one', and got seated at the bar. So glad that I did! The vegan 🌱 food was insanely good! The shitake and tofu dumplings in particular were so delicious, that I didn't want to eat them so that the experience wouldn't end! Thank you chefs 🙏🏼 The staff were amazing, really friendly and helpful and the restaurant has a great vibe. 2026 edit: I returned with high expectations and although the dumplings were slightly changed and didn't blow my mind again this time around, the food was all excellent!👌 100% will come back when I'm next in Galway again.
