Breen's Lobster Bar in Castletownbere

Absolutely lovely gem of a spot. Great service, everyone was so kind and even helped call me a taxi after I missed my bus. The restaurant itself was very pretty and quaint and had very nice and well kept restrooms. And of course, the food was incredible. The fish was so so fresh and the side salad was a proper salad, not just a few pieces of lettuce and carrot like at most places where you get a side salad with fish and chips. It had apple, watermelon, beets, and great dressing. And the chips were great and both the breaded and steamed fish was delicious. The dessert was also amazing. Such moist cakes and the gluten free option was so good as well. 10/10. Would absolutely come here again and hope that other travelers stumble upon it!!

I love this restaurant! The Chowder is better than the award winning Chowder from another restaurant. Nice ladies. Hard working. Crab sandwich delicious. Fish and chips delicious. Been there 3 times in 3 weeks. Fantastic!

Fresh fish! You eat it the same day it is catched, in the second largest fishing port of Ireland. Friendly service as well. I had beef stew which was excellent as was the haddock (fish of the day). The chairs at the high tables are not very comfortable.

It's only ok. The ladies who served us were not particularly friendly. Menu was good lots of choice , the catch of the day ( hake)was flavourless. The restaurant itself reminds me of someone's house no real personality

The best fish in town. Very good food, great service, very good desserts. Basically everything was top-notch.

We stopped her in the overnight motorhome parking area. This beautiful bistro style restaurant was just a short walk away. We had a fabulous fresh fish dinner the menu has enough choice but there are also daily specials. Our meal was fresh and full of flavour. I must admit to having an eye for a good pudding and mine was a delight lemon & lime meringue pie, just sharp enough to be refreshing and crisp topped meringue with a great crunch. If you do the Wild Atlantic Way make this one of your stops. Superb friendly service.
