Brú Bar & Hostel in Cork

Great place to stay at Cork if you don't mind staying in a hostel. Super friendly staff.

23-24/10/2024 A cool place to stay, friendly staff and clean. The only problem is that some guests seem never consider other guests. Their hygiene is so bad (Feet and body odour). I stayed in 308, one guy made the room smell so bad. Thank God the other guy had the guts to tell him about the smell of his feet.

Spend 2 nights at Brú Hostel. We did not need to use the kitchen, or common room but from taking a look they seemed well stocked and comfortable. We did visit the bar downstairs which offered good drinks and music. The hostel staff and service were all impeccable, everyone was kind and helpful. The rooms were comfortable and spacious. The light morning breakfast is very appreciated. My only complaint are the bathrooms. The showers have no temperature knobs which made it nearly impossible for me to shower as it was so hot I felt as though I was getting burned additionally, the water was on a timer so every 12 seconds (I timed it) you had to press the button again. The bathrooms also lacked anything to dry your hands with. There were no paper towels, or hair/hand driers which meant that our hands were always dripping on our way out. I understand there are cost and water saving efforts made but for the price that Brú charges per night, a shower you can adjust and something to dry your hands with is unnegotiable.

No hot water in the shower, the mattress was too firm and my neck and my back were hurting Staff was nice and helpful You have to pay extra for luggage storage

Kind and helpful staff. Beneath the hostel there is a bar where you can also have a simple breakfast (included in the price of the room). Bar tables were a bit sticky and could be cleaner. Room was small with a bunk bed. One blanket was a bit smelly, it most likely wasn't washed. Bathroom was generally ok, but there was no shelf for your stuff.

I visit the BruBar for their live music events and the chats. I found a place cozy with a rosy ambience at nite. During the day, I ll grab a chair by the window. I fell right at home. I sit comfortably outside under the infrared heaters. The Bru bar itself is wheelchair accessible. The rooms are not wheelchair accessible. The rooms are upstairs. The bar has wheelchair accessible seating. They have a pizza and pint offer available in the early evening. They have a selection of pints and cocktails available for happy hours. Their happy hours are from 5pm till 8pm. We visit the bar for the music and people.

Excellent service at the night shift bar and reception, Thais was very kind and guided us about the city. Simple but good breakfast. They kept our suitcases for an hour! I recommend!

Nice but staff could be more engaged and a bit more friendly.
