Brú Bar & Hostel in Cork

Very stylish hostel, entry is through a bar, check-in desk is in the back. Nice classic house, looks like late 19th century. Our room had common two-deck bunks for hostels and its own bathroom with a toilet. If you're leaving early, you have to bang the door in the bottom back (next to the cellar entry) and return your card (and get the €10 deposit back). The room was well-heated and cozy. Note there's no parking in front of the building.

Have not stayed as I live in Cork however I love the bar here. It’s next to my work and they do amazing happy hour. Never had my strawberry daiquiri so nice- I love my cocktails frozen which is rarely done so. Great live music too. Just very cozy spot in general👍👍

Location is great, also the breakfast that’s included. Before booking, we were assured that, because we are girls, there are enough rooms to put us all together. There was a “problem” upon arrival and one of us had to sleep in another room. Since she slept in an all-girls room it wasn’t a problem but it was the opposite of what we had in mind while booking and it makes you feel a bit played regarding the situation.

Felt safe here as a solo traveler and they provided storage units under the bed that you can lock your belongs in, not the most comfortable beds in the world but still a decent place to stay

I only met some friends there but the live band was very good and the beer was excellent.

Now this was an excellent spot! Very decent staff. If you're there, look for an American named Fidel (spelling unsure) and tell him to stop being a creep. (He'll get a laugh)

You get what you pay for. Very clean I have to say. Beds first night you can feel it , however you get used to. Bar was also fine , spend few hours watching premier league games . Only thing I have to point is , 8.30 in the morning (Monday ) someone drilling somewhere next to the rooms. Even with my earplugs was loud as the building is old and walls are not keeping the noise . Apart of that , enjoyable experience .

Not much more you could work from a hostel very clean felt very safe the entire time. Make sure to bring cash as to get a key card. You need to give a €10 deposit you’ll get back afterwards like breakfast just cereal and toast. Not much more you could watch it was really good.

Great hostel. As a college student on a weekend trip, it hit every need I could’ve wanted. Had security for my bags, free breakfast, less than a 5 min walk from the bus station, super close to lots of tourist attractions and other fun spots.

Clean enough, and I liked that two uses of the key card were required to get into a room. It felt safe, and was very conveniently located. Be sure to bring a lock for the lockers, as well as your own hand towels for the bathroom. Beware that the pre-check in storage actually isn't free. Other than a slight mishap where they changed the room of some of my group members, service was fine.
