Bunch Of Grapes in Galway

We stopped in today for a couple of Irish coffees in this quirky old Irish pub with plenty of character. The atmosphere was lovely, and the staff were friendly, welcoming, and genuinely pleasant. Unfortunately, the Irish coffees were a bit of a let-down. My brother had never tried one before, so this was his first experience, and it wasn't the best introduction. The coffee wasn't sweet at all, and the alcohol was much more prominent than it should have been. In my opinion, it wasn't made quite right. I've had Irish coffees in plenty of places, and they're usually smooth, well-balanced, and easy to drink. It certainly wasn't terrible, but it was probably the weakest Irish coffee I've had, which was surprising for an Irish pub. That said, the excellent service and the pub's unique atmosphere still made for an enjoyable visit.

Cool old pub that seemed to have quite a few old gents and local types. They don’t have a food menu just the soup of the day and build your own simple sandwiches. Staff was very friendly. Minestrone soup was good, Guinness was great, basic toasty sandwiches and egg salad. All in all a good place to pop into for a light bite and a good drink.

Best wine, toasties and soup in a pub in Galway. Dog friendly as well.
