Bush Hotel in Carrick-on-shannon

Yep...it's 200 years old, and it shows its age. The staff are friendly and helpful, but this property is in need of significant renovations. My travel buddy suggested a wrecking ball and rebuild. It's beyond a good scrub, a lick of paint, and new mattresses. While I really appreciated the dry humour of the front desk staff, it was equally matched with the dryness of the scones served for breakfast.

Central hotel with a convenient car park st the rear. Very helpful and kind staff. Food in restaurant was tasty and waiting staff were great.

A good hotel in a great location in Carrick-on-Shannon. Rooms were comfortable, staff were friendly, and everything was well kept. Parking available, which made things easy. Overall a pleasant stay and a solid choice for visiting the area.

Good evening fellow bushers, My friend and I stayed in the Bush on the 30/12/25. We originally had an apartment booked for 6 but only two of us could make it on the day. They were understanding and could not issue a refund as we booked through booking.com. However, they granted us a compensatory breakfast for the inconvenience (which we badly needed from the night out 😂). Overall, the stay was lovely. Beds were comfortable, and both receptionists were lovely. The food was amazing shout out to the chefs - bit pricey- but alas we move. Finally, the young bar man (Jon Joe) was very attentive and friendly…made the bar an inclusive warm environment. Finally, I would like to thank the manager for assuring everything was okay the following morning, I willl definitely be returning, Regards Luke. . Happy new Year bush 🎉
