05/06/2026: I love this place! The steaks here are some of the best I’ve ever had — juicy, flavorful, and generously sized. For just €29, you get a huge plate with a steak, fried onions, and potatoes. The portion is truly impressive and definitely worth the price. They also have a great selection of cocktails to choose from. The dining area is spacious and has a wonderful atmosphere. I highly recommend this restaurant to anyone who loves a good steak.

04/06/2026: The portions were generous and the food tasted good. They don’t have a huge variety of options, but this is our second time coming here and both visits have been consistently good. The gravy was especially generous, with plenty of it served on the meal.

30/04/2026: I dont know what happened.We’ve eaten here 3 times since and its been really poor.We had hoped it was a one off but alas no.Friends have said the same…. Food was absolutely fab.Both of us had a different main and a different dessert.Couldnt fault any of it....I've has to edit this review.Wife said her dinner was one of the best she has ever had. Now with Covid they have being doing take away.I really recommend their fish pie. 2024…still fab

12/04/2026: The food was wonderful, really tasty and well presented. (the pork bite starter was a bit boring in comparison to all the other wonderful dishes, but well cooked and balanced). The atmosphere was great, we were close to the guitar player but the music wasn't intrusive at all, we enjoyed it. The staff were all friendly, efficient and had a good sense of humour. Love that they have a list of their staff members and suppliers in the menu. Great selection of local alcohol too.

18/02/2026: Visited Sept 2025 and again recently Feb 2026 from Australia. Food and service is top notch. Best caesar salad I've ever tasted and I've have a few over my years. Staff friendly and warm, authentic Irish atmosphere. A must when visiting Ballinamore

But the food, my god, I love italian and this was class. As a passer by in Carrick On Shannon do yourself a favour and try this place.. 06/05/2026: One of just a few eateries open on a Tuesday evening during a slightly off peak season. The BR Bistro is easily accessible for a wheelchair and the owner/floor manager was most accommodating and helpful. This is a family run business and the owners serve on a 'front line' system. They obviously take great pride in their business and the eating experience reflects their dedication. The steak selection for the evening was fillet and for me, cooked precisely to my liking. Declining the chips option I was served tastily prepared baby potatoes as a side dish. Perfect! My wife's Prawn dish c/w Spanish chorizo was equally enjoyed. The husband and wife team were charming, friendly and very helpful. Our bill came came to €44 per person including drinks which we consider good value these days for excellent fare and proper, personal service. We chose this restaurant for the evening partly because of the limited choice available on the off peak season. We wish now that we'd have found it sooner. We'll be back to Carrick on Shannon in the future though and the BR Bistro will be our number 1 choice when dining out.

14/10/2025: What a lovely pub! The atmosphere was lovely, there was music. Everything was clean. Service was quick. Lovely place for a drink after the show at the Island Theater. I was impressed from the outside and even more impressed when I got inside! We did not have food, I don't know if they serve food

08/06/2026: Toasty pub and restaurant. Decent food and friendly staff. Best in area, no, but grand. There was a screaming child making everyone uncomfortable. Staff should have stepped in and asked for him to be taken out for a bit while calming down.

31/05/2026: We stayed here for cowboys and hero’s in leitrim and we will be back! A massive thank you to Joe and Gerry who looked after us during our stay, such a lovely welcoming atmosphere, food was gorgeous rooms were lovely and clean. Highly recommend ☺️
